I'm calling this right now....

If we lose to an 0-3 team then 0-4 team back to back it might make Art II actually notice what a crap job he is doing and maybe someone who is not a progressive retard should start making football decisions and not politcal ones.

This team has lost the last two times they went to Oakland. One of those times the Raiders were 2-14 when the season finished.

To say "could we possibly lose" is comedy gold at it's finest. It wouldn't shock me at all if we helped kickstart young Bortles' career on Sunday.

I think we will either win big or it will be close. However, we might lose big or a close one.

you throw the ball, you catch the ball, sometimes it rains

Bunch of realists on this board...

"Oh we suck so much!! We are gonna lose!!! Wah Wah!! Sand up my Vi-jay-jay!!!"

FIFY... Just what part of this team's performances this season (or the last three for that matter) gives you ANY confidence whatsoever? The blazing "punch you in the mouth" offense? That lock-down "Steel Curtain" defense? The solid running of Jerome Bettis? Hines Ward's ability to get open and catch the ball in crucial situations... James Farrior's immeasurable leadership in the midde? Lloyd and Greene gettin' after that QB? You're right!... man Mark Brunnell doesn't stand a chance in this game!

...

Can't wait to hear about how great DL is against rooke QB's as he shreds his defenses. Now i fully expect to put a whoopin on them but will not be surprised if it is too close in the 4th.

They don't have 10 days to prepare. It is a road game against a desperate opponent. The 0 and 4 team will get some breaks from the zebras. The steelers are probably looking past them and counting on the win. This game will likely be lost on turn overs, Ben will throw one, and we will get two fumbles lost at our end of the field. I would expect a loss here the way they are playing.

The Steelers will continue their recent pattern of winning every other week. Obviously it's a more consistent way to end up at .500 again, if you will, by playing situational football and we accept that and embrace that obviously and will make enough splash plays and popcorn to win this week.

Burgundy is being funny but its true. Our guys may not put a streak of 2 or more wins together this year.

Wouldn't it be a lot more fun to acquire a bunch of losses before frantically racking up just enough wins to almost make the playoffs but barely miss them, say by a field goal, in the last moments of the season?

While everyone likes to point to coaching as the main reason we are losing these games to weaker opponents, dont overlook the fact that theres some sort of indictment on the man we call our "franchise" quarterback. So, is it safe to say without a stellar defense our quarterback cannot get this team over the hump. Our offense has weapons like its never had with an all pro top 3 WR, a pro bowl TE, and young up and coming soon to be pro bowl caliber receiver in Wheaton and what most here believes is a top 5 RB and we cant seem to muster enought points to overcome our suspect defense. We should be lighting up scoreboards week in and week out...............

But that goes back to Tomlin i guess..**** it, why stop at Mike...blame Rooney. Goodell..........

Coaches coach..players play. Fans *****. If we lose to Jville whether its a missed FG or two errant passes that get intercepted or a fumble or safety, the blame will fall on coaching...around here, it always does. Head coach in headphones somehow becomes responsible for a missed kick or bad snap or a dropped pass.

Yeah its not like we have a history of losing to horrible teams under coach cool shades. We are 6-9 against losing teams the last 15 times we have played them, that is all on the head coach.

HC Tomlin or former HC LeBeau, or former HC Haley, or former HC Munchak?

How is that all on the head coach. The players bare no weight. They have to be motivated to beat lesser teams. Everyone makes a big deal about us losing to losing teams when the reality is we havent been good ourselves.

I live about 45 minutes from Minnesota so this was highly covered in my area. From what I gathered is the guy said he knocked Ventura to the ground with a punch but then the next day during multiple interviews on camera Ventura who takes blood thinners had no bruises. To me that is the defining evidence in the case since the only people who "kinda sorta" saw it all are making money either directly or indirectly from the book.

Nah, they did that the last two seasons. It's old. Time for a new approach to 8-8.

Oh, oh...someone is gonna call you a Tomlin-protector...

Steel Curtain? This defense is a cum stained sheet.

But that makes it worse if it's not true. That means Ventura sued a widow for his own ego. He didn't want people to think he got punched out. OK Jessie, i believe you, but now i think you're a scumbag narcissist. He should have dropped the case when the guy was killed.

Well you mention Ben and dropped passes. How are dropped passes Bens fault when he delivers the ball perfectly and the receiver lets the ball slip out of his fingers? Agreed that the players are the ones playing but they keep making the same mistakes and gaffes over and over again its up to the coaches to address that and run drills at practice to correct the problem. Same thing with players playing undisciplined football, 165 yards in 15 yard penalties alone given to the other team is an indication of an ill prepared team. Since the HC runs the practices the blame for not being prepared is on Mr Tomlin.

I do believe there is some blame to lie on Ben's shoulders. His deep ball (in)accuracy has always been suspect. He's great between the 20s picking up chunks of yardage on intermediate throws. But once the defense tightens up in the red zone and there isn't as much space to operate and wait for guys to get open, I do think his effectiveness/accuracy suffers.

But I also believe it is ultimately on the coaches to understand Ben's limitations and coach around them. Like.. by making sure we have maulers on the offensive line so we can, ya know, maybe sometimes RUN into the end zone..

What do you think they do at practice?

I hope this board has plenty of bandwidth, because it's gonna be a long Sunday.

Tomlin has shown me nothing to think they have learned from their epic embarassing losses. I don't expect them to learn anything now.

This game has WTF written all over it.

Cowher would sometimes lose to teams with crappy records too, but that was because Cowher was a Martyball disciple. Good or bad Cowher was going to keep the game manageable and make sure things were winnable at the end. My problem with Tomlin is you can SEE him on the sideline and he looks like he has no freaking idea whatsoever what to do. He has a complete deer-in-the-headlights look about him. Cowher at least had a plan that sometimes didn't work out. Tomlin looks like he's got his guys out there playing rec-ball.
