I'm calling this right now....

You mean the QB that has kept us close to .500 by playing his *** off and getting his brains bashed in because of a sorry excuse of a ******-assed line? Ya, blame him, that piece of crap Cracker........

Ben takes more punishment than he needs to....but thats mostly due in part to him holding on to the ball for extended periods of time--is it not ? It makes it look as though the line is poor and its not all that bad. Has there ever been a season, even under the old regime, where Ben had sufficient time to survey the field and launch ? He's taken a substantial number of sacks throughout his career because of his sand lot style of play. Hes taken less under Haley (recently) because Todd is calling plays that call for quicker releases. But if Ben wishes to resort to his old ways, he can do so but understanding his career can be shortened from the excessive hits.

I just get sick of hearing how everything falls on the coach and the players are exonerated from blame. They are, after all, the performers. Perhaps the better course of action is to bench those that make repeated mistakes. But with a limited number dressing and the drop off in talent substantial, coaches cant afford to do that.

But gettin back to Ben...if hes the franchise and the leader of this team, we NEED him to be all-world. We need him to play out of his mind......better execution in the redzone. Sharper accuracy on the long throws. Sustainable drives that move the chains. With our porous defense he needs to step up his play. Everyone on offense does (for that matter). If all we can muster on a good day is 24-27 pts, we are ****** because i dont trust LeBeau or this defense to devise ways to limit most opponents to under 20 pts which means we are at risk of losing every game if it comes down to the last drive of a game.

One of Mike Tomlins shortcomings is that he has difficulty making adjustments and building on positive outcomes. This and Haley is completely inept at utilizing his talent within their skill sets. Antonio Brown can be a formidable threat until a defender is as equally or more formidable. What is Plan B then coach, continuing to put your player in situations that set him up to fail?
Why is Ben allowed to hang on to a football to extend plays then ultimately sacked? If Ben is going o run for his life then why not create QB option or play action plays?
Even in Mike Munchak's All Pro days as an O Lineman, he likely would have gotten called for "holding" trying to sustain a block on a defender for as long as these guys are forced to.
I wonder how long this team will be able to sustain itself before somebody snaps.
Dan and Art the Deuce should have a closed door meeting with the team and coaches. The conversation should start with: "Gentlemen, we here are all professionals and paid well to play the game we all love and hold dearly but to be brutally honest you suck"!
Then let the fur fly.

Ben's play action is deadly when he has a running game to back it up. Unfortunately the line forgets how to run block most games and all too often there are defenders in the back field before Ben can plant his feet or the back can make a cut.

Ben is known for ability to extend the pocket and plays, but when was the last time you saw him run a bootleg? Without Ben, this team wins 4 games a year at best. Without a running game, Ben can only get them @8.

I defended Tomlin for several years.

Then I stopped. Mostly because it occurred to me that he's terrible. It really really bothers me that he constantly takes responsibility for failure and then consistently keeps on failing. Does that not annoy anyone else? Would you not think he'd have the commons sense to stop saying "That's on me." or "That's my responsibility." and then go out the next week or the week after that and have the same damn mistake rear its head again? At what point would it make sense for him to shut his mouth and say "The linebacking unit is performing terribly and they're going to bust their *** in drills this week." Or, "Antonio Brown made a really stupid move today that cost us 15 yards on a kickoff. I don't know why he did something that stupid but we'll try to get him a tutor or something this week, maybe 'TouchDown Celebrations on Phonics'."

Perhaps he could say, "I'm not sure what's wrong with our secondary or our secondary coaches or our defensive staff right now but I'm going to have to talk with them because I'm up here looking like an *** in front of all you people AND my bosses right now. I suppose I should go and make a few OTHER people look like ***** too." That would sit better than "We're going to approach things in the same way and we're going to get more desired results."

Good Talk.

^^^ Remember two years ago when he was pissed as hell at the presser and vowed that people would be held accountable and changes were gonna be made around this place for damn sure, then trotted out the same lineup the next week anyway?

You better believe, heads are gonna roll....LOL

...and yeh, my 13 yr old granddaughter's got bigger arms than that !

I halfta remind myself constantly that it's just a game...relax.

Remember like 5 years ago, we were coming off our 2nd SB in a few years, with a great young QB entering his prime, a young head coach we already won a SB with in his second season, and all we could see ahead was mountains of wins, years of contending, maybe even some more rings?

Tomlin will demonstrate his amazing coaching genius by barely avoiding a loss to the worst team in the NFL, Jacksonsville, immediately after losing to the 2nd worst team in the NFL (Tampa).

The NFL better get ready. Tomlin may well "unleash heck" at some point, then GAME ON!!

Why the Steelers will lose to Jaxonville

Pressure

Think about it. I don't think there has ever been a team under so much pressure to beat another team solely because they are 0-4. Too much has been made of their knack for losing to bad teams. The Steelers would be better off facing a 4-0 team.

Pittsburgh will win this game by three TDs, but we (meaning Steeler Nation) will still complain.

Am I the only person that believes we could possibly lose this weekend in Jacksonville? They have 2 decent young WRS in Shorts and Hurns who could quite possible cause our DBs fits. They made some additions on defense and under Bortles (what I saw last couple weeks and in preseason) this offense is just more effective, fluid, and sound when he's under center. Speaking of Bortles....everything he does, mechanics, running, throwing, is a spitting image of Ben when he was a rookie and they are practically the same size. Its really uncanny. I see a young Ben every time I watch Bortles.

I just have this feeling that this coaching staff and team are so use to "******** the bed" against teams that we should dominate that I see another colossal failure on our hands. I just don't see the leadership from the coaches or the players. A few turnovers and sloppy play, on the road, and we lose again to another win-less team. I'm not saying this to stir ****...I'm saying this because I fear it's going to happen again. If Tomlin and Co thought last Sunday was rough...lose this game and see what happens.

And for an extra kick in the nuts Ziggy Hood probably plays extremely well.

And if allowed, I am also calling that there will be a post on Sunday night saying everything is fine because last year we were 0-4 at this point so we are 1 game better than that, and we only missed the playoffs by one game...... yadda yadda yadda.... I'd like to be optimistic, but I said before the TB game (not here but in regular conversations) by week 4, if we learn anything about who we are, we aren't doing well.

Exactly.

Dumbass Steelers fans, whining about losses to Tampa Bay, the Raiders (3x in 5 years), the mighty, mighty Titans, the Chargers with 4 offensive lineman picked up in Bettis' restaurant earlier that day, the Dolphins in December in the snow because they are built for cold weather, then the Browns, then the Raiders again, then to the 2-14 Raiders, and the Browns again ...

It could happen, the other team could run the wrong way 3 times, spike the ball and the steelers fall on it, yeah that is the new plan, we got one fumble in the end zone this year we just need three next game.

Yeah because bad losses have to bad teams have never ever happened before. How about outgaining Houston 422-47 and losing the game. Losing to expansion team Jacksonville 20-16 and Im sure there are more.

Did they used to happen several times a year? And during playoff runs?

Go examine Tomlin's W-L vs. sub-.500 teams. It was posted here last week.

If there is one thing I have learned during the Tomlin era it is this....we will play to the level of our competition and we will lose games we should dominate. He can talk a good game in the media but apparently he can't get through to his players when it counts.

I am like any other steeler fan...I want to win this week. If we do I will be happy as **** and fully expect to **** the bed the next week against the Browns. But for some reason this game scares the hell outta me. 10 years ago I woulda chalked this up as a win and looked at our next opponent. Since MT took over every ******* game is a struggle....every ******* game! And that falls back on coaching and not having your team prepared.

Will they allow Ziggy Hood to look all-pro?? That would really sicken me..

Don't forget up by a TD with the ball and 1:45 left in the game and we still can't pull a win out of our *****. Or up by 24 points at the half and struggling to barely hold on to a win against the Browns. Gee whatever would we have to complain about. This team is AWESOME!

I'm telling you guys: it's an eight-year plan.
