Originally it was Van Ness. And I'd still be very happy with that but... if they took Broderick Jones and got Campbell with their own second round and say Ringo with 32 I really wouldn't complain. I learned a term around the time they got Watt. War Daddy. That Jones kid looks like a War Daddy. Build, knee bend and athleticism. You better be ready or he looks like he will bury you.

Not sure about Ringo but LOVE the other 2 picks.

All year I have been saying Trenches trenches... Still thing that way. If one of the top LTs are still there at 17. take them. if not maybe the best DL still there

Addison at 17 and Ringo at 32 would be so Tomlin-esque. Hoping cooler heads prevail.

I would not trade up and if they don't take a tackle at 17, there won't be one to get at 32.

Broderick "Thomas" Jones is one of my favorite picks. He is very likely to be an elite LT, at worst an excellent RT.

Would not mind Van Ness at 17, or my new man-crush, Darnell Washington at 32. Want to make Okorafor a superb run blocking RT? Draft Washington at 32.

I am thinking they trade up for a LT. Part of me wants them to, but then another doesn't. Stand pat and see how things shake out.

Stand pat. They need the quantity of talent they earned with the Claypool trade. If they cannot get a Tackle they have low quality starters but still starting capable.

Not sure Jones will make it to 17 but I'd love it if he was our pick, especially without trading up to get him.
I'm not sure it will be Jones either......but with a minimum of 3 q's going before the Steelers pick and who knows maybe a running back (you never know). You are getting at least the 13th best non q. Player. It's math. It has to be someone very talented.

I’m glad it’s not a twatwaffle concern.

SOLID post should it play out that way.

Salute the nation

Yeah. I'm actually hoping the 4 QB's and Bijan goes before we pick. I hope we don't trade up and can get one of the top T's or CB's at 17. That gives us the most flexibility with picks 32 and 49. Although, if it fell a certain way, I wouldn't mind getting Van Ness at 17. Pair him with Watt. Oh my!

I know there will be differences between reality and Jeremiah's top 50 but if it plays even close you have Van Ness PorterJr and the cluster of Tackle. This team is not one great player away. Take your 3 out of top 50. After that if you want to make a move up or down......go for it.

Jones would be a safer pick over Van Ness IMO. But I wouldn't be upset with either. I would actually take on the rare joy for getting Ringo at 32 knowing I was a minority with that pick. I just think Ringo has a high ceiling. If I had to roll the dice, I would say 17 brings a T or a CB. And 32nd brings what wasn't picked at 17 between the two options. I am hoping it is BPA between T,CB,WR,S, DE, and OLBer. Just not sure it will be that wide of a range for them..

And 2.17 is Jack Campbell.

The most recent mocks, for whatever they’re worth, have Van Ness going top 12 or 15.

or Washington at 32 and make Moore an average LT.

can probably get Ringo at 49.
If not, can always get Darius Rush. He's a sleeper at CB.

I’m hoping for Jones

No bias *ahem*

That is (besides the player) a wild card that might cause the position to be picked later than say 17 or 32 with the decent amount of interesting players at the position. Very curious how that impacts their early picks.

I really hope the front office is looking at Washington. The 2-TE set would be murder on defenses. Both TE's are very large human beings and excellent receivers, Washington is a super blocking TE, so in red zone, have Pickens, Johnson, Washington, Freiermuth, and Najee to contend with, and both running game and passing.

Play big to stop run? Yeah, OK, guess you single Pickens. And Freiermuth. And Washington. Good luck with that.

Go more dime to handle the four pass receiving threats? Yeah, great, now Washington, Moore, Seumalo, Cole, Daniels, Freiermuth and Harris run the ball down your throat. Good luck with THAT.

while I don't disagree

the Steelers haven't shown a lot of interest in using one TE correctly so having two out there for the QB to ignore seems to be over kill

1. Jones/Wright, OT
2a. Schmitz/Tippmann, C
2b. Washington, TE
3. Mingo/Reed, WR

There is a complete offense around Pickett.

It sure would mean a restructure of the play calling, but one that would help a lot our current roster
