Initial thoughts on browns Game

Tomlin is one of the best coaches in the league. He'd have a job as HC the day after you fired him.
Sure, there are **** organizations like Jacksonville who would hire him in a nano second, but if Tomlin was the Head Coach of any organization outside of the consistent Steelers, his *** would have been gone with his lack of playoff appearances and playoff wins. He's an average coach who hires average coaches who delivers average seasons.

Common attributes of Coach T discussed here.

Good - Winning regular season record, Leadership, adapting to changes (personnel and NFL rules)

Bad - losing post season record, lack of playoff appearances of late, poor game management, playing down to competition, lack of on-field discipline, poor hiring practices.

It's fair to be critical of Coach T.

Plenty of guys leave the Steelers to fade out of the league into obscurity as well, it’s certainly not like everyone that leaves blows it up elsewhere. A couple guys have mildly improved upon departing, many regress and some fade out of the league all together. Who are all these great-good players we let depart you are referring to?

I see Dotson doing pretty well, judging by his current contract.

Green has improved, but he had nowhere to go but up and in his defense, Tomlin put him in an un-winnable situation here.

William Gay left for a year and re-learned his trade, came back and blossomed here.

Conner went to AZ, hasn't actually flourished, but has done well even with his injury history.

Others, but my memory isn't enhanced currently.

Thanks for all your great post(s) and humor along the way.

The Steelers coaching in the secondary has been questionable for a long time, especially considering their inability to develop CBs under Tomlin.

Last year, it seemed like Porter had broken the trend, but that is less of a certainty now, as he has clearly regressed.

Recall that even Artie Burns looked decent as a rookie.

Minkah was once a star in the league, but he hasn't intercepted a pass in nearly two years, and honestly doesn't break that many up anymore either.

I think it partially explains why the Steelers record is so bad without TJ Watt. The secondary is always overmatched when the pass rush doesn't absolutely dominate.

With the way it looks now on defense, they may as well start bringing back some of the exotic blitz packages again. Which have been gone for some time.

They're getting burned anyway in that soft zone. There's just zero creativity rushing the passer. They double, triple and hold TJ from his position every game now.
No real consistent pressure from the interior DL either.

They used to be unpredictable and disciplined. Both of those are gone. They're not dominant vs the run or pass. Just average.

All I see Porter doing is grabbing and pulling on wideouts all game. He's making more of a negative impact than positive this year. He is tackling much better. I bet his dad gave him a good earful about that.

Minkah hasn't made a real impact in years.

Same stuff new year. It all goes downhill toward the tail end of the season.

They define insanity by doing the same thing over and over, but expecting different results. Which they will NEVER get.

I'd say more. It's exactly the same week in,week out, year in year out.

It would work if you had a massive talent level gap in the league and your guys are just head and shoulders above everyone else.

What you can be is smarter than everyone else or at least unpredictable with tactical planning and execution.

They are 8-3. Which means they have won over twice more than they lost. Holy shiit.

I already asked him that question. He never responded back and he's not going to respond. It was one of those talking out of the side of his mouth comments that once he realized where he put himself there was no coming back from it.

Wait. Stop right there. The funny thing is you change and soften your arguments when you're called out. That's your first sign that you're full of *****

No one is "completely absolved" -- and that's your term since it has never been mentioned. Try to stay on topic here. When was anyone completely absolved? So you're making ***** up to support your untenable position

I said you don't have the right to publicly masturbate. Your constant bitching and whining and your public display of your sopping wet vagina after losses, you are like a chick. Worse than a chick

Who else is responsible? Colbert? How about Woodley who took the big money and disappeared with injuries? Who was responsible for Ben cracking his head open? Is there anyone else responsible or accountable? I didn't think so.

Tomlin Derangement Syndrome. Incurable.
You're arguing with a guy who feels Tomlin should have been able to make deep playoff runs with QB2s and QB3s and apparently washed up QBs well past their prime ...and even win a SB apparently. I would say the level of rationalization doesn't quite exist with this one.

I agree with this 100%. How many times have opposing teams said they knew what call was coming or we do the same things. In contrary when we played the Ravens, a team we should know like the back of our hands, gave different defensive looks 65% of the time. We always try to pound the square peg in the round hole. The one game we moved TJ around and it worked, but we have not done it again for whatever reason. A soft cover 2 is not effective against today's offenses. We barely blitz anymore and teams have figured out how to limit TJ. No matter how good he is, he is not going to consistently beat 2-3 guys
