Initial thoughts on the Bills game

The running game and getting to and containing Allen are the 2 keys. Allen has a knack for throwing ints and fumbling. Hit him early and often. That and if we are able to keep the run train rolling and win the time of possession, we will have a good chance.

With the wind expected to be like it is, it might limit the passing game quite a bit, but Allen has that rare mutant-like arm strength.

It probably will not affect him as much as Rudolph.

In addition to the weather, getting Fitzpatrick and Kazee back will help, but it's still hard to have confidence in the Steelers' secondary until proven otherwise.

I still think their best, and probably only chance, is to dominate in the running game, keeping the ball away from the Bills as much as possible, and setting up some one-on-one's for Pickens and DJ that Rudolph can hopefully take advantage of.

Any turnovers and it could ugly quickly.

Last three playoff games, all losses where the Def allowed 40+ points.

No Watt, playing our 'hot' 3rd string QB.

Early line is Pitt +10.

Of course, the 'any given Sunday' axiom applies.

Would like to see a foul weather game with wind. Turnover potential increase is exponential, the running game will rule the day. That would give us the best chance, in my humble opinion.
Based on our last three games this should be close. Snow game works perfectly for Pitt.
Based on our last 5 playoff games - it will be 28-0 Bills after 1 qtr.

"The key to the Steelers winning the game is to run the ball against the soft middle of the 5th worst rushing defense in the league..."

Mike Tomlin "That is exactly what they'll expect us to do...Mason...get that shoulder ready...we're passing 50+ baby!"
:ROFLMAO: There is truth to this. What was the game years back when the weather and wind were awful and that was the exact game plan? Cleveland?

A "feel good" video.
"There's something with this Steeler team"....Coach Dungy.
Damn right there is.!!!!

We need 2 turnovers that yield 10 points or more to win this. If we get turnovers and zero points....not good. We can't afford to lose the ball at any point. No errors.

I don't see why everyone is suddenly jumping on the bandwagon, like the Dungy video, there's something about this Steeler's tram, I hope he's right, but we've won 3 games in row vs Cincy(Browning), Seattle(Smith), Balt Jv(Huntley). The Bills had their backs against the wall and have won 5 straight and have beating Mahomes, Prescott, and Tua.

The Steelers should study the Bills Cowboys game earlier for Bills' tendencies and work out how to stop Cook. Cook was who they went to on the day. Only 94 yards passing for Allen on the day. That game was played in windy conditions. Chances are it will be a somewhat similar approach on Sunday.

Everyone has been sucked back in, so to speak, because they managed to string 3 W's together and got the 7 seed.
There really shouldn't be much pressure on them and hopefully they play loose and aggressive.
If they lose badly, no big deal, as we've seen this act for the last 10 years. Same goes if they advance.

Sit back, relax, open a cold one and enjoy the ride, short as it may be.

Yes, that's what they should do.........

I hope the Steelers take offense to Vegas not giving them much of a chance.

dolphins - 101

chargers 98
cowboys - 89
chiefs - 82

the last 5 games is 94 ypg, point is their run defense has been better lately.

last 6 is 110
I said 5 or 6 not knowing if they finished the year with 5 straight wins or 6 straight wins, their last 5 games, their must win games is 94ypg

1) Rushing attach, middle of the line type mostly.

2) With run game comes clock control, need a commanding TOP in our favor.

3) Can't be afraid to strike down middle of field and slants are our friends.

4) Full 60 minutes don't go conservative once our lead is established.

5) Victory lap with the BT50.

Salute the nation

Steelers tend to lose playoff games in recent history.
Steelers tend to lose any game in which TJ does not play.
Be like 40-30, something like that.

Bad weather as in blistering cold, snow and winds should play in favor of the Steelers.
I would expect heavy heavy dose of Najee and Warren and lot of three TE sets.
Using Muth would also or should also be in the game plan. Would expect Pickens to be double coveted so DJ and Alan Robinson must contribute in the passing game.
On defense better keep Allen contained. He makes his share of turnovers but also makes his share of big plays.
Control both lines of scrimmage!

That was when The Bruce was here.
Made worse by the fact the Cleveland had the league’s worst run defense at the time.
They lost to a bad Browns team and afterward The Bruce said, “We do not let the weather affect our game plan.”
Five wide *******, even if there’s golf ball sized hail.
