Interesting claim that a number 2 WR will be added.

So once again, why in the **** would the Super bowl contending 9rs trade a high end piece for a future pick?
It makes zero sense...
they are the type of team that adds at the deadline at the cost of picks...
bare in mind that in season holdouts for players under contract are basically pointless under this cba...
Deebo is uniquely skilled and the key to their offense. I dont think they can afford to trade him...
As for Aiyuk, Even if they were open to trading him, Aiyuk's cost would be way too high for a rental. They would almost certainly want pickens in return and then we would be in the same situation wr wise, down multiple picks on top of that... and way worse in the cap space situation

I think they will let one go just based on they can’t pay everyone so they could set themselves up for a draft pick or 2…

Always thought the Steelers were a long shot but I know they have to be WR hunting one way or another…

I tend to believe it is possible that the Niners still ship one out. They just extended their third, have that high draft pick. I would actually be surprised if they didn’t move somebody.

Now if the Steelers will be the recipient of that deal your guess is good as mine….
I just hope they don't give out "the farm" for Aiyuk. He's overrated from being in that system and won't come close the those #s here. He's a decent WR but he ain't a "star" but wants paid like one.

Niners won’t get what most think. What did HOU give up for Diggs (2nd round pick) included the huge contract BUF signed him to in 2022, which HOU restructured after the trade.

Aiyuk doesn’t have a new contract, but will want $28-30 mil type money. No GM will give up a pick higher than a 5th, without additional compensation (swap of picks, etc). Not sure Kahn will pay for that kind of money, if Pickens (and it looks like he will) deserves a new contract/extension.

I think cut downs will determine the fate of addition of a WR.

We have significant $$$coin$$$, so pending on big name, we may get an upgrade to the position.

Salute the nation

I don’t think it will be Brandon Aiyuk if indeed a trade is consumated between the Niners and Steelers. Why do I say that? He’s a number one and we already believe we have that guy in Big George. Plus that would cause a major rift with George. Nah, I don’t think it’s him.
I do believe if a deal is done it’s Debo Samuel who would be a perfect number 2 receiver and would fit great in Art’s offense. Debo makes sense and would compliment Big George perfectly and Roman Wilson in the slot.
I think you get Debo for a second maybe just maybe a third since the Niners are top heavy in that room.

It doesn't seem like they want to pay big money to all their receivers, but given the talent on this team and the realistic goals of winning a championship, they'd be better off just letting Aiyuk play out his contract and walk after the season.

Would make sense for them and they have been going against the reports the whole time. Just hoping the Steelers add to those WRs a reliable number 2 option.

If only they could add a WR who consistently drops balls and runs backwards....oh wait, that's who we already had.

With their strong running game, how many passes will there be available for deebo, aiyuk, Jennings And pierce? I'm I forgetting someone? Kittle of course.

A package of a 3rd rounder + a starting LT 🤣 could sweeten the pot..., better than losing them next season and having a malcontent in the locker room

Wait when you say "starting LT" you can't possibly be referring to Moore, right? SF has a REAL LT in Trent Williams, the best in the business.

Purdy threw for 4,200 yards last season and 31 TDs on top of the nearly 2,400 yards they had on the ground.

Aiyuk and Kittle both had over 1,000 yards, Deebo nearly 900 yards, Jennings only 19 receptions, but absolutely plenty of targets to go around. Not saying I wouldn't love to have Aiyuk. Aiyuk, Pickens, Wilson, and Freiermuth would be nice.

I would rather have Deebo on his contract, Aiyu’s contract will be at JJetta‘s number. Leave more $ for Pickens if he really breaks out.

Between his injury history and only one 1,000-yard season, Samuel seems like a specialized player who works for the 49ers.

If Donte Jackson ends up being an impactful CB, awesome. But if not, it would have better to keep DJ than to give up any meaningful draft capital.

If wilson can do what chase claypool did.. Id just roll with what we have. I think receiver market is flooded and there are other guys to be had without losing draft equity and spending big money.
agreed.

$30 mill a year deal for either of SF's WRs along with a hefty trade package. Hmmmm. Pickens is getting exited I bet. Especially with Deebo having two years left on his contract. If the Steelers can rip that one up and hand out a new one worth $30 mill per.....why not do the same for Pickens? Lol
Kahn seems too reserved for that kind of thing. 1st things 1st, Pickens has to prove to be a reliable #1, he has come FAR from proving that up to this point. If he posts a 100+ reception, 1,200-yard, 10+ TD kind of season, then Kahn will talk. Prove it 1st.
