Is it just me

Pickens was a headcase at UGA at times. His attitude is nothing new and he never really quits on his teammates either.

You’re a UGA fan too, so we know how he is and we also know he shows up in big moments.

He’s still learning at the nfl level. He’s the least of my worries in the offense
Far from a headcase from what I’ve seen at his time in GA, a minor incident or two but absolutely nothing more than some young buck college dude stuff

What’s the list of material making him a headcase?

He’s definitely not a worry for me at all on this squad, one of the only playmakers we have and he’s been pretty damn on point with his assessments of this team…I find his bringing of the truth refreshing after being sold lip service BS from “team leaders” aka Tomlin’s parrots

I think one guy just got the ball to them.
Bingo!!! Nothing to see here - Rudy fed the playmakers and those meals opened up the running game. No offense to Kenny but his game is predictable and does not produce many TDs.

Hopefully, he continues to heal and learn from the film that was created in all 3 wins and the losing effort against the Bills.

Just an FYI for those that didn't look at Rudy's stats in the loss last week - on paper the two QBs were even except for Josh's long 50+ yard run:

Johnson would be gone if I were the GM. The other mental midget needs a serious attitude adjustment.
I’d be looking to bring home Tyler Boyd a FA from Bengals. Also look at Tee Higgins if they sign Boyd since Bengals are not signing them both,
Either guy especially Boyd would help adjust Pickens attitude.
Draft another WR with the Johnson draft pick.
Try and hire Hines Ward as receivers coach who would provide a no nonsense approach.
Art better have serious discussions with Tomlin about discipline, accountability to change his approach with these players.
He’s not suppose to be their buddy or someone to hang out with. Maybe that’s what they mean by players coach since it can’t be about winning anything.
This is absolutely speculation.

Just because Coach Tomlin is 'known as a player's coach' - show me/us documentation of Coach Tomlin hangin' w/ the players outside of the stadium...

Poppycock.

Getting rid of DJ to bring in two Bungals WRs? How much do you plan on spending on them to make that happen???

On paper, yes. The eye test, Josh Allen blew Rudolph away.

He got popped for a car accident and suspended for fighting. Nothing serious. Just suspended and maybe his draft status failed.

He’s the least of my worries on this team. As I always say, I don’t play for the Steelers nor work for them to let these locker room moments etc even bother me. This stuff has no bearing on my life lol.

If the Steelers implode they implode. If they are successful. Great. I’ll be happy as a fan. But my life goes on regardless what they do

I didn’t say they should sign both players from the Bengals. I said one or the other. Read it again!
As for Tomlin much has been said about his relationship with players.
Try coaching these guys rather than babying them like he did with Johnson and Pickens.
Example one. Johnson in the first Bengal game stands there after Warren fumbles and never makes any moves to go after the ball or the player who recovered the fumble.
Example two: Pickens just stands at attention rather than throw a block for Warren in the Colts game.
Both these ******** should have been benched the following game but no Tomlin would rather be their buddy rather than instill discipline.
This team won’t win **** as long as Tomlin is HC. Remember that!
Players coach, yeah right.

Yeah those were two I knew about
The “young college buck stuff”

I know I probably did worse/equivalent things in college as most of us here did

And great perspective, sure as hell not gonna let Mike and his house of stupidity get me down, but we also have a legitimate team to root for to ease the suck in Pittsburgh that is going on so we can still enjoy some football

Feel sorry for the folks that live and die with this team, like I used to before Rooney, Tomlin and Co took the wrecking ball to my expectations of a standard

So Steelernation thinks the savior is the Bengals 2nd or 3rd WR? Inconsistent players that put up ok numbers because Chase gets all the Defensive attention. Doesn't anyone remember what JuJu looked like after AB left? The Bengals have Burrow and Chase and Boyd and Higgins and they still can't win.
Hard pass for me on the "other guys" from Cinci

I hope there’s a bonus for winning a super bowl. It’s a disservice to guys like Watt, Heyward who play for the team and game.
But definitely stats are the main push. Look at Clowney celebrating sacking Rudolph for his meeting quota on sacks.
Heyward? You mean the same guy who's been admonishing fans who dared to suggest that he take a paycut from the outlandish $22+ million he's scheduled to pull down next season as a 35 year-old part-time defensive lineman?

"Screw the people who keep talking about me getting a pay cut,"
I believe he said. Yeah, he plays for the team and the game. Sure he does.

You find a QB performance with a121.9 rating and one with an 80 rating to be "even on paper," do you? How's that?

I don’t follow much of what they say during the week. I get my news here. If he said that, then it’s clear he’s more about the money than winning. Majority of these guys are. That’s a lot of money.

When you can retire and set yourself up for success in your early to mid 30’s. Good for them I guess

Or do the two dipshits that play wr really not like Kenny. Like I'm very grateful for job Rudolph dud and personally would like to see him brought back on right contract for an open competition. But Pickens called him the GOAT. The greatest of all three....games. Cmon.
To be fair he is better. I didn't think so at the very beginning of the season, but I do believe that now. Neither are franchise QBs though.

From what I understand, Heyward is an upstanding citizen, and gives a lot of his time and effort back to the Pittsburgh community. Which is great, and why what he said was surprising to me.

Doesn't matter. You do not speak on Social media about who or what you happen to think about the teams personal. You are paid to play not GM. To some extent that applies to Najee and team discipline but also Heyward. Why is Heyward correcting Harris but not the receivers......hint it's the subject of the criticism.

What was the source of the articles or comments that were made? I thought u had linked it, but I don't see anything.

I'd say common knowledge at this point. DJ out and out said he preferred Mason. Mason posted a thank you on X and Pickens posted a goat.

The NFL should have guaranteed contracts like MLB but that’s the players union’s own damn fault.

MLB doesn't have a salary cap or anywhere near the same injury risk. The only way I could see guarantees in the NFL working is through short term contracts, lower values or an injury clause with a predetermined payout. There would still be a need for performance clauses on long term contracts or you could end up with a roster full of Woodleys.

Maybe it'll light a fire under Kenny if the intent was to send a message. I'm not sure what it will take to get his game in gear. I certainly don't think its just handing him the starter job for next year. It may be a moot point though if MR moves on, or if they sign a free agent QB other then Mayfield or Cousins, or can't swing a Fields trade. I kinda like the fact that he knows he has to gain the confidence, respect, and approval of his teammates. He's not a natural born leader type to me though.

Heyward comes across as one who loves the sport. Of course he wants his money as well. I think his emotions got the better of him there

All this talk of Drops Johnson and Tripping Pickens demands some contrast.

This is what it looks like when you care. Heath starts in the backfield, blocks 2 or 3 guys, the ball ends up way down field to Tone....look where Heath ends up blocking...now try to imagine either of those numbnuts doing that....LOL. They may have way more talent than Heath did, but not caring enough voids that. They both need to grow up.

I don't think they need to light a fire under Kenny, I just think he was physically limited coming into the NFL--which was fine--but all his weaknesses in college have been really exposed in the pros. IMO, it's more mental for him than anything else.

NFL contracts are headed that way. $26.25 million (40%) of Heyward's contract was guaranteed from the start.

Football is a much more physically demanding sport than baseball, though. I can see football players getting really fat and lazy really quickly with a fully guaranteed deal. We can see how it's working out for Cleveland with Watson...not well.
