Is it just me

NFL contracts are headed that way. $26.25 million (40%) of Heyward's contract was guaranteed from the start.

Football is a much more physically demanding sport than baseball, though. I can see football players getting really fat and lazy really quickly with a fully guaranteed deal. We can see how it's working out for Cleveland with Watson...not well.
Agree, which will lead the league to writing shorter contracts.

The NFL should have guaranteed contracts like MLB but that’s the players union’s own damn fault.
100%
The only major league that doesn’t have guaranteed contracts right?

Players union is weak AF and they simply let the owners run them over again and again.

Gaurenteed contracts? OK but every contract needs to be incentive based then. See Larry O. Lamar Woodley, Dionte Johnson, Antonio Brown

Baseball players aren't even athletes.

Selleck quote from the movie "Mr. Baseball".
Pretty good movie.

GMs just have to be smarter with who they give long pricey contracts to
Other leagues do it just fine and the NFL can too without being incentivized contracts

Maybe dudes just get complacent under Tomlin and then underperform as there are no consequences once you’re one of his dudes.

Sounds like a cultural issue in Pittsburgh rather than league wide problem you’re addressing

Kenny was handed the crown, and he just was not ready, hurt, did not help. All Kenny would have had to do was handle is last press conference more professional as well as the question on the sideline not learning. Maybe these answers he gave kind of separated the team we won't know till next year. Tomlin still calling Kenny number one which means little during off season caused some rumble in the locker room. Tomlin had no use for Rudy and now Rudy once more is treated second handed after getting Tomlin a winning record and to playoffs.

Rudolph is CLEARLY a better QB than Pickett. Tomlin prefers Pickett mainly because he drafted him to start. So if you’re a player who wants to win, you advocate to start the better player at every position. Don’t be stupid and think anything otherwise.

Tomlin’s ego will say otherwise

How can Rudolph be considered the Steelers number 1 QB right now? He's effectively no longer a Steeler given his contract expires before the free agency period starts (if it hasn't expired already).

I think he meant during the season, either way the point is being made that Rudy wasn’t named starter when in actuality he was. That in itself affects team locker room. It5 also tells me either Kenny couldn’t handle the demotion, or Tomlin still had something against Rudolf. It could have very easily been changed and then changed back.

We as fans may be making to big of a deal ove this, but seeing the treatment of the better QB, has gotten stale in the Tomlin regime of bull-**** happenings.

Salute the nation
