It’s all about perspective

I know there are a a lot of folks here who aren’t necessarily fans of Tomlin. Thought you might enjoy seeing what other fans have to say. This is the discussion taking place on the Raven’s forum right now. You could replace Harbaugh’s name with Tomlin and you’d think you were reading a thread from Steeler Nation. lol

Meh. They just lost a close game to their biggest rival. Of course their coach is the worst coach that ever lived.

The common denominator to most HC’s success stories is the franchise QB

Reid couldn’t in Philly-gets Mahomes now he is awesome

BB sucked his whole career- gets the Tommy Boy and he becomes the GOaT lmao

Mike was having success in Ben’s hey day

Very few getting it done with average-crap QBs in this league

A great QB will make an OK-good HC look brilliant and average QBs can make a good HC look pretty average-poor

As always it’s 90-95% about the players on the field making the plays

Contraire, Billicheat became a great coach about the time the League decided to turn a closed eye to his cheating.

When comparing coaches there is one glaring thing to me from yesterday. And that is that we got cute early on offense and it cost us scoring any touchdowns....they got cute late when all they had to do was run Henry on the 2 pointer and it's almost a given that it's a tied game. Instead they ran a play that looked like total ****.

In fact In the 4th quarter I don't recall seeing Henry at all. Either he was hurt or as many have stated in this thread: other coaches do really stupid **** as well.

The Key to their loss, was the lack of using Henry. What did he have, 13 for 67yards............ He should of had at least 25 carries.

Keep Tomlin fed and watered, don't want Hairball.

And had rules and eyesight of the refs changed, so that he got all the calls, even the made up ones.
Best penalty ever vs Tommy and the Cheats

Woodley sacks Tommy and from about 10 yards away looks back menacingly as he walking away and gets a flag for intimidating the Cheaters

Never seen anything like it

Tomlin had a Hall of fame QB in Big Ben
He ended every season with an egg on his face despite having the best trio of weapons in the league, statistically the best ever to take the same field. The Killer Bees.

Harbaugh wins atleast 1 superbowl if given 5+ years of that talent on offense. Alot of coaches would have.

Harbaugh has been the Steelers biggest rival forever with Flacco and a bunch of mid tier talent on offense. Ray Rice was one of the best but that was years ago.
Every year they are solid no matter who they put on the field, now they have the #1 rushing attack in the NFL with a chance to make history.

Harbaugh has done just as well as Tomlin with less talented players, Night and day less talented. Thats what great coaches do.

Harbaugh didn't inherit a sb roster.
I have admittedly pounded Tomlin at various times for years. He did make some questionable in game decisions mostly due to inexperience.

Tomlin inherited a Super Bowl roster that Cowher built after he won the power struggle with Donahoe. After Cowher retired, Colbert took over much of the roster assembly that I believe Cowher had control of. His drafts left a lot to be desired and we were losing the Steelers way.

Since Khan has taken over his drafts have addressed things that Colbert ignored for years. Coincidentally Tomlin has suddenly become a much smarter coach. You can say what you want about Tomlin but it's pretty obvious players love playing for him. I also thought he did a great job guiding us through one of the toughest schedules in memory to get his Super Bowl. We'll see how this works out but right now I wouldn't want more than a handful of coaches other than Tomlin, and most of those would be questionable choices.

Jackson only completing 16/33 passes probably forced them into more passing situations than they would’ve liked.

It didnt happen during a Steelers game, but a player one got a roughing call vs him for LIGHTLY BRUSHING BRADY'S ******* LEG WITH HIS HAND while getting blocked past him...

**** that ******... if he had played in the early 90's he would have been a backup...

The game was a one score game all 4 quarters IIRC. There was no need to abandon the running game the way they did...even stranger was Lamar not running himself more. There were times he could have easily gotten outside contain and ran. If he does that we lose. It's weird, but I'll take it.

I'm not allowed to say anything remotely close to this lest I be labeled...many thanks!!!

While true, Belichick and Reid have won a ton and multiple titles with those QBs while other coaches with excellent QBs have won nothing.

Hello Ben ROETHLISBERGER, easily top 12, arguably top 6 all time QB in the NFL.

Quoted for truth. NFL head coaches have too many hats to wear as is.. you arent going to be great at everything.. they also tend to be arrogant and stubborn. It leads to some bad or stupid moves... but all of em do it..

Harbaugh is worse at challenges than Tomlin, has a bunch of the same issues that people ***** about Tomlin having here..

The two fanbases would both probably vote overwhelmingly to swap coaches.. lol... then would ***** about their new guy as much as the old guy
Definitely would not be one of those who would vote for swapping coaches. I just think Tomlin is the better coach and would have had Lamar Jackson in a SB by now. I always say I would like to see what Tomlin could do with another franchise QB in his prime.

So maybe the coach is frequently that +10% that puts the 90% players to a complete season.

Very true that some good QBs never did anything tho as they were missing that final ingredient to put them over the top (Ryan, Rivers were some recent examples)

Harbaugh rebuilt the whole offense around Lamar. I doubt Tomlin would do that. I like tomlin as a person and I'm fine with him being coach as long as he lets the assistants do their job. We just don't seem to be very adaptable in general. He does seem to be better at that this year along with letting the assistants do their thing

fans get too caught up on the negatives....

all coaches have strengths and weaknesses

fans see their coach all the time and many don't watch other games with the same intensity so the times other coaches **** the bed do not stick with them as long or they over look them as one time issues

tomlin is not the greatest coach in the world, but he is far from the worst in the nfl
As I've said before, this isn't the 1970's when there were 7 or 8 future HOF coaches on the sidelines every week.
In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

man wants paid,,, i bet for $50 bucks hed be more adapatable.

Not totally sure why I would want the Steelers to build an offense around Action Jackson, I wouldn’t. That has more to do with what I think about Harbaugh as a coach than Tomlin. And what I think about Jackson. He is a great RB not sure I am going to buy stock into anything else.

We know what Mike is and isn’t at this point. But if I have to choose have to. It would be Steelers approach over anything the rats did.

And sure they need to be better in areas well documented. But yeah if we are pinpointing options….

love the word Hogwash.

that Killer B's offense is the reason our current Defense is so stacked and we don't have the receivers. I believe our current over-correction to all the money in on defense is because we had that offensive talent and couldn't win playoff games.

BUT, how many playoff games did we have all three B's healthy?
