Kenny Pickett Is Our QB. Deal With It, Whiners.

If Pickett had gone to any other college no one here would give a **** about him
I don't quite understand this? Pickett is one of the top five QBs in this draft regardless of his school. He would be a topic of conversation this year no matter what, however, I do agree there are a group of fans that want him just because he's local and they don't want another "Marino situation" (it won't be).

Yep, but in some alternate reality, he’s only a topic of discussion because he went to Pitt and we’d be better served drafting a WR, despite not having anyone to throw to that receiver. I’m pretty sure that’s the “logic”.

I dont want a QB in the 1st no matter what school went to. I would rather go with Mitch and Missionary Rudolph

That makes sense. To play it even safer, maybe we should just take a knee on all 4 downs every possession. Keep it in our defense’s hands.

In many cases I might agree, but unfortunately our "seasoned starter" is a guy that was canned from the Bears, was given up quickly by the Bills, and someone who wanted to play for the Giants. So yes, I do believe that KP alone could be the difference in our ability to win an additional 5 games.
Bills have a starting QB I wouldn't say they gave up on him. He just fulfilled his contractual obligation. Let us not pretend the Bears gave him the best opportunity to succeed either. Best to take the wait and see approach. And Willis can't be a Kordell spinoff. Kordell could catch the football.

**** the QBs this year. Fix the rest of the team this year in the draft. Hopefully we dont win many games and get to draft high next year to get a better QB prospect. This also takes care of Tomlins never had a losing season dumb as **** narrative. So sick of hearing dat BS.

fair enough....but which statement is more outrageous? my comment or that the only way the Steelers break 500 this year is with pickett at qb?

The only reason our OL looked as atrocious as it did last season (other than it truly sucking) was because we had an old QB who couldn't move in the pocket and couldn't push the ball more than 10 yards down field. If we have a mobile QB with an arm (enter KP), you don't have to have a top shelf OL. Joe Burrow is recent proof of this. Trade up and get KP and sign a free agent receiver (Deebo or even Brown) and I think we can hang with the rest of the AFC and even pose a threat. That's not happening with the Bears' failed experiment or with Marcella Rudolph.

OH! I see now. It's the crystal meth talking.

trading up for any of these QBs would be idiotic

neither Deebo or AJ Brown are free agents and if you meant AB...you are truly ignorant

It would only be idiotic if we already had a QB who was worth a damn. At best, we have an average game manager with Glitch. With Rudolph, we're just screwed.

You're right .. Deebo isn't technically a free agent, but he's up for grabs. And yes, I'd take AB even if it means him potentially walking off the field on or before Week 10. Who gives a ****. He's better than any WR that we currently have on the roster. I watch football because I want to see my team win, not because I care about their left political agendas or their "consistency". For the sake of argument, let's say we pick up a WR or safety in the draft. Anyone else still see anything wrong with this picture:

AFC North

Burrows
Watson
L. Jackson
The Glitch / Marsha combo

again the lame name calling of the current Steeler QBs doesn't make your posts any more accurate

so you want to trade up for pickett and trade for Deebo?

who knows how many games watson will play or how he bounces back.

jackson is a rb playing qb, but none of the QBs step in and are instantly better than him as a starter.

if the guy they want is there at #20...so be it. I won't be a fan of the pick but oh well. of all the qbs in the draft Ridder in the 2nd makes more sense to me.

i'd prefer to ride out a year with Mitch and see what happens next season....

By the way, you wouldn't happen to be tooling around Florida in a luxury automobile would you?

Unless he got a jump start, he's still parked by the back row single parking lot light that works,. at the BAR.

I think Tomlin probably keeps his non-losing streak together at 9 - 8 with or without Pickett, and that's all that matters to the front office - commitment to mediocrity.

We would go above .500 with Pickett. We won't without him.

I do agree with your comments about our front office's "commitment to mediocrity", though. I'm sure most will agree that it's not going to get any better when we announce Brandon Hunt as our next GM. Rooney says he "knows the Steelers way". That's what we should find most concerning ..

Its the opposite we draft kenny we don’t finish higher than 500. We have lots holes to fill and kenny ain’t a miracle worker.. I just don’t see him, or any of these other qbs, as being a big step up from trubisky. Just don’t see it. MAYBE Willis has greater upside but you want to sit around waiting? first round should bring us a play maker right now. Cant waste it. I like kenny… in the third round… but thats it and sure as hell don’t see him starting regardless!

stuntman -

Why don't you see KP starting? What about Glitch's resume leads you to believe that he is the right guy, or at least adequate for now? Also, which player/position should we draft in place of KP that would lead to us having "a play maker right now." Would an OT make us an immediate threat? Would a WR lead to us sweeping the Bengals annually?

Please advise.
