He looks like a game manager type of passer who isn't a running threat , and has benefited for the defense and kicker to help him win key games . At times he plays well late in games. But his first half of play has been awful. And he can't win a game where he isn't on the plus side in turnovers or beat a top 14 qb. He has a top ten NFL WR. That is what I see. Is this good enough?

Can't beat a top 14 QB well he plays defenses but Action Jackson and Stafford say hello.

Is his performance good enough ? No.

Will it be? We will see.

Hi cooch.

I'm not ready to put George Pickens as a top-10 wide receiver and I know you aren't talking about DJ. Right now he's good enough to lead a team to 7 to 9 wins and maybe slip into the last spot of the playoffs. He has to play better if he's going to be the long-term answer and that will include producing points the the early conservative offense the Steelers run. I want to see more consistency on making plays early in the game when they're there. Maybe once he starts connecting, the defense will back off and they can open up more in the first half of games.

Geez Coachiepoo I guess you really wanted to get your point across since you posed this bullshit three times,
Look, Kenny will be fine and will improve as the season progresses. I think the reason he starts out so slow is the extremely conservative playcalling in the first half of games. I think that’s Tomlin’s ridiculous plan then open it up in the second half as witnessed Sunday. If they had called plays in the first half like they did in the second half, the score would have been higher and Kenny’s numbers would have been even better. Unlike the first half, the second half did you notice the difference in playcalling? They used the middle of the field, playaction, deeper routes. That’s Tomlin opening up the offense after playing it close to the vest in the first half.
My worry is not with Kenny, it’s always been Tomlin…. He is holding the team back. And Canada is going to do as he’s told. That’s precisely why he has the job he’s a ******* yes man to the control freak Tomlin.

You and Ford should get a room.
It would be cluttered with Rudy posters and stat sheets with 40 time printouts.

A Kenny picture would be on the dartboard with cooch asking to put Tomlin's or Najee's up next.

To recap :

Both dislike Kenny.
Both think their opinion is all that matters and pass them off as facts.
Both think they could do a better as the Steelers GM.
Both have an overinflated view of themselves.
Neither contribute to the site.
Both get quiet after good Steelers performances.

They could be message board doppelgangers.

Hey man, Pickens did snag 2 out 3 rebounds on Sunday so...

In our 6 games, we played 4 of the top 10 offenses.
And 5 of the top 12 defenses.
Did I say we are 4 and 2?
Pickett is the top-rated QB in the NFL in the 4th quarter.
Since Pickett to over as our starter, he has the most 4th quarter come-from-behind wins.

That all said...We have many many areas to improve on. In all areas of our game.

Get it done Tomlin and company!!!!!!

i see the opposite. i see Kenny making all the big-boy throws. A stud who single-handedly keeps the offense from being the Carolina Panthers.

Think about how many clean hits Kenny has absorbed in his short stint.

Look at the passing game routes that were called for him in the Rams game. So many of those routes are just flat - no depth, no drag - just run into a quadrant and the offense must hope to God either
1. the defensive coverage actually cant get there in time
or
2. Kenny can slam it thru an impossible window.

Pickett looks like a better version of Big Ben but with Matt Canada's college offense instead of Ken Whisenhunt.

You had me until.......this.

Carolina ranks ahead of the Steelers in passing yards, rushing yards, total yards, and points per game. Bryce Young has more TD passes than Pickett playing one fewer game. Pickett has to be better than 5 TD passes through six games.

Some of you guys need to just relax. Kenny will be fine and you should be encouraged by what you saw in the second half Sunday in Lala land.
Boy does this remind me of 1970 yeah I’m ******* old, but it does in the sense everyone had these unrealistic expectations that Terry Bradshaw was going to immediately step in and be an all pro.
When that didn’t happen soon enough for all the impatient fans in Pittsburgh everyone was critical of Terry. Well, we all know how that story played out.
What I’m telling you is to be patient grasshoppers, it will happen.
Kenny is still in a learning process and he’s doing just fine. The yards and TD passes will come just be patient with him. He’s not costing us games and has a 4-2 record so far. The guy is working for a control freak in Tomlin and is given a very limited playbook from Canada.
I think the more comfortable Tomlin becomes with Kenny the more Canada will open up that playbook for Kenny. Look at some of the throws the kid made Sunday. They were on the money and lasers so you know he can make the throws.
Kenny also has to grow more comfortable in the pocket and trust his OL more which will come.
Mason Cole ******* stinks as a starting center and that’s hurting the OL but unfortunately we’re stuck with this guy this year but we better upgrade in the offseason.
I think we have our QB in Kenny and I really believe he will continually get better and better. Also, having DJ was huge and opens things up more for George. Would like to see Canada utilize Cal Austin more on some screens and slants to use his speed.
Also, missing our TE badly. We need some help there.
Kenny will be fine. Trust me!

I'm sure you would rather be 0-6 with better stats than Kenny Pickett's, than 4-2 with Kenny. By the way Charlotte is only 6.5 hours down the road, enjoy hangin' with better stats and the drive. A "W" is a "W" no matter how it happens, it's all about the "W"'s.

Salute the nation.

Come on. The Steelers are 4-2 largely because of their defense. Kenny had a great 4th quarter last week. Nothing more, nothing less.

This is dumb. I'd rather be 4-2 or 5-1 with Pickett completing 68% of his passes with 12 TDs and 3 INTs. These are the same wins that we've been getting that end in zero playoff "Ws".

If you can watch a replay of the last two games, note how many times Pickett gets DRILLED right after releasing the pass. Answer (I counted): 17.

Know why he isn't running? Watch when Mahomes runs. He is in the pocket for 6 seconds, can't find a receiver, takes off. If he was behind this offensive line, he would hold the ball for 3 seconds and get killed.

I really encourage fans to rewatch the last two games, against two very good defenses. Kenny is under pressure non-stop and yet delivers accurate passes 10, 15, 20 yards downfield. It's not a Kenny issue. Put Jones back at LT and tell Seumalo and Cole to block somebody.
