Kenny

I'm sure you would rather be 0-6 with better stats than Kenny Pickett's, than 4-2 with Kenny. By the way Charlotte is only 6.5 hours down the road, enjoy hangin' with better stats and the drive. A "W" is a "W" no matter how it happens, it's all about the "W"'s.

Salute the nation.
The thing about is, Big Ben had an incredible run his rookie & sophomore years racking up the W's. Wins make everyone jump onboard the HOF train when your a QB. But during that time, Ben made plenty of mistakes but had a simply ***-kicking cast around him.

Kenny has the polar opposite. His margin for error is like, nil. He was concussed 3 times last year and rocked so many damn times this year. Kenny has to be absolutely perfect on almost every play given what's called.
I can see the argument about stats - i mean this offense sucks so bad. it's embarrassing.

Come on. The Steelers are 4-2 largely because of their defense. Kenny had a great 4th quarter last week. Nothing more, nothing less.
Let's be honest, the running game had a great 4th quarter.

Kenny is just the guy after Ben.

He's not great, he's not bad. He's just a guy. And a crap OC who can make Ben Roethlisberger (even a declining Roethlisberger) look like **** certainly ain't gonna make "a guy" look good.

Hope for some breaks to go their way, and maybe even thrill the fans with a shot at a playoff game so coach shades can get destroyed wild-card week... Again. All while ESPN raves about how amazing he is.

A Kenny is nothing like Ben. Ben was a generational talent. That doesn’t mean Kenny won’t be good or even great… but he absolutely is not Ben…

Having said that the haters are definitely downplaying Picketts 4th quarter comebacks …but to have what? 5 in his first 18 starts is almost unheard of… …and they aren’t really the” move them a few yards and kick a FG types either…

Now all that shows is that he can be a playmaker, if they let him…… and early career comebacks can ultimately mean different things… but remember in the case of Ben, it definitely showed he was being restrained by the conservative offense… he had six in his first two years.. and Bens conservative offense was a GOOD offensive scheme … not this blunderbuss bs crap we are running…

I think we are seeing a more advanced version of that with Pickett… they are being extremely cautious until the end of the game when being aggressive and making a mistake won’t get the masses to hunt you with pitchforks…

You had me until.......this.
I agree w/ this. Ben was a different breed and was able to make throws w/ guys hanging on him or bouncing off him. Ben had to be the hardest QB in history to bring down. I think Pickett will be fine and can even be very good, but I dont think he will get to Ben status.

448 isn't that type of fan. He just tells you what areas he thinks needs improvement. Some fans would rather be right than win, he isn't one of them.

Sure Ws are great but to continue getting them the Steelers need to see growth at the position. It may come but until it does it is a concern.

It isn't the only concern as I think the team needs better coaching and ultimately a better scheme and playcallers on both sides of the ball.

Still it is a concern until it isn't.

Also in regards to Young, i don’t think anyone thought that he wasn’t really talented… they just kind of thought he is listed at 5’10” but is probably closer to 5’9” and doesn’t exactly have the frame to bulk up.. people thought he was going to get injured easily.. that was really the biggest knock on him… kid has oodles of talent otherwise

If we want to say the D is overall performing better sure. Still the D isn't without their issues. The secondary isn't exactly giving out a comfort level of confidence.

The run D isn't that far behind.

As the D has to overcome the Os game to game struggles the O has to score enough to pull out victories with a secondary that at times couldn't stop a granny from getting open.

So in the process of making those 4th quarter come backs Kenny still has to be the game manager and keep his Ints down. Still has to keep the game in reach to be able to mount a comeback.

So there is an element of something more. Just obviously need to see continued growth. Those happy feet need to continue to lessen, drifting into pressure needs to continue to lessen and accuracy needs to continue to improve.

This team has enough issues on both sides of the ball to not leave out those areas when addressing what needs improvement. Outside of the linebackers we could use improvement in every area including obviously the coaching aspect of it all.

We just won a nice game where KP brought us back again and more talk of KP not being good enough. Absolutely insane but that's why they call them armchair QB's. I will do the logical thing and give KP through his 2nd year starting (next year) and for his sake, with a new OC, new OL coach, better OL, etc. before I weigh in on if he is good enough or not.

The way I see it…
We have a second year QB that hasn’t yet played a complete season.
We have a QB that has had only one camp as a starter.
We have a “predictable” ”vanilla” offensive scheme.
We have a questionable OC
We have an O-Line that doesn’t always give the young developing QB time to comfortably go through his reads.
We have an O-line that has been struggling to open holes for the running game, which is needed to compliment the passing game.
We have fast talented receivers that struggled to get separation (DJ being the exception)
We have our best tight end on IR
We have an organization that is slow to make change.

The way I see it, it’s Kenny’s fault. He has small hands.

Beat me to it.

Pickett has to show much more until he can be compared to an early BEN.

That doesn’t mean he can’t be, just he needs to show more than what he has shown.

Salute the nation

Pittbull, when you explain it like that, it becomes so freaking obvious! How did I not see this?!?

Pickett can be great and win Super Bowls, but i don’t think he will ever be in the same stratosphere as Ben… that guy was special and we mostly wasted him

😂

Yeah. This is why I can’t take you homers seriously.

Wow, you found a comment to mock. Congrats.

If only you could find some guy pushing Mason Rudolph as a legitimate NFL QB - no, an EXCELLENT NFL QB - you could go to town.

Nah. Rudolph was the guy after Ben. The thing Love is going through in GB right now. Everyone hates him and is calling for Duck, I mean Clifford. I’m learning there has to be a sacrificial lamb after your HOF QB. There was an obvious drop from Rodgers to Love. There was an obvious drop from Roethlisberger to Rudolph. But when Ben came back he wasn’t the league leader in yards. He was about 75% of the QB he was before. He wasn’t “Big Ben.” So now the fanbase is giving every opportunity and making every excuse for Pickett. Partly because the shadow of Roethlisberger wasn’t so big anymore and partly because a huge portion of the Steelers fanbase is Pitt Panthers fans.

Pickett’s story isn’t written yet. But if someone outside the fanbase were to look at Pickett today would they call him better than Roethlisberger or a game manager? So even though coach is premature in his assessment I would say if you had to make a prediction he is probably more likely right vs Kenny being better than Ben.

Yeah. Find that statement from me. I’ll wait… 🤦🏼‍♂️

Everyone knows how didn't think your boy didn't get a fair shake, don't pretend innocence now after a **** load of Rudolph posts exists.

Nobody needs to hunt down your crap patch, it has been seen enough.

It's completely unfair and unrealistic to think KP or any QB we might have drafted would be in the same conversation as Big Ben. BB is the best Steelers QB ever (yes, I also watched TB play) and a 1st ballot HOFer. Ben should currently be considered in the top 10 or, at worst, top 15 QB's to have ever played the game.

😂

Yeah. This is why I can’t take you homers seriously.
All the "Ben can do no wrong" types out there would be labeled homers too. Would you ltake them seriously?
You might be a homer if you consider Ben a top 5 QB.

It would be cluttered with Rudy posters and stat sheets with 40 time printouts.

A Kenny picture would be on the dartboard with cooch asking to put Tomlin's or Najee's up next.

To recap :

Both dislike Kenny.
Both think their opinion is all that matters and pass them off as facts.
Both think they could do a better as the Steelers GM.
Both have an overinflated view of themselves.
Neither contribute to the site.
Both get quiet after good Steelers performances.

They could be message board doppelgangers.
Hey wait a sec Slash, only Coach has an infatuation with head sizes. Ford has never used that philosophy….so they are definitely separate individuals.
