With this mock I focused on next years draft. Getting Dart in the second (highly unlikely), makes it easier to draft a QB in the first next year if that's how things were to fall. With comp picks and the picks I was able to pick up, it gives a ton of flexibility in next years draft for moving up. This draft also fills some spots with big uglies, a solid RB, and WR.

If only other teams threw picks at us like mock computers do it would be so easy to build the talent level of the roster.

They need to make the simulators more realistic, I always walk away with 10 picks this year and a bonus 3-4 next year too

This draft had some names fall at least a round farther than I think they will be taken in Judkins and Pegues. Shough could go higher than the fifth as well. Grant in the first and Pegues later on help solidify the DL. Judkins is big and has enough speed to be a true RB1. Shough is taking a shot at a huge area of need even though the Steelers may make a big splash at QB in 2026 in front of the home crowd. Riley can contribute pretty early on. And, I just love De'Rickey Wright for some reason. He is a very big safety who ran a 4.67 at his pro day. Not a blazing time, but I think he is faster than that. He was just cleared to train a week and a half prior to his pro day. He could be a steal so I am taking the swing. I'm worried about the Steelers trading GP but since they haven't done it, I am happy with our WR room as it sits. GP and DK will be unstoppable if they have someone to throw them the ball. Austin continues to improve and Roman can be the true speed slot guy we really need as long as Tomlin will allow the QB to throw across the middle.

He isn't a big safety, he's a freaking HUGE safety lol. That alone would intrigue me to take a flier on him late.

Very true, although in some of the trades I made late, I took less to get picks for next year instead of "value".

I'd love to have him (or someone like him with that size) roaming the middle of the field. He'll be a 7th-round pick or possibly undrafted but I would take that flier.

let's mock the **** out of it:

R1. Dart QB, I sure would try to trade down (with the rams in this draft for example who got dart at 1.26) and get an extra Early 3rd, but as I can't in this mock I'm keeping the 3rd QB of this class, else I'd pick up Grant DT.
R3. TJ Sanders DT, a little light in the pants but a lot of pass rush potential, put him in big snack diet
R4. Tuten RB, fast and strong, he can complement Warren and be a home run threat
R5. CJ West DT, here is the thunder to our round 3 lightning, run stuffer with potential for more.
R6. Clay Webb OG/OT, depth
R7. Tai Felton WR, this is a no brainer so late but seems unrealistic so if not him Ricky White WR, too.

Webb is a solid pick for sure, but he is no OT. Other options from that mock would be Jack Nelson (can play both tackle spots and guard), Marcus Tate (a huge guard that is super athletic), Jackson Slater. I expect all these guys to go before the 6th round in real life.

Hunter Wohler is another bigger S, not quite as big, but another I'm high on in the later rounds

Back to back RB? And both of them are kind of like each other (Blue is just faster)...I like the Jalen Travis pick, HUGE upside.

Today's mock: Imagine if you will, a DL with Benton, Grant, and Harmon. I don't think even Tomlin could come up with reasoning to take one of them off the field at any point during the game.

What do you think of Desmond Watson (DT) from Florida. The guy is Massive (6'6 464#). He did 36 reps at the bench, has a 25" vertical and 5.9 40 "speed". I know there is a lot more to being a DT than size, but this kid seems athletic enough to warrant a late round flyer I think

He needs to lose about 80 lbs. His problem is his stamina and pad height. He's SO big, he struggles bending and keeping his pad level low, so he loses leverage. He's not fast, even by his size standards, so the best you're going to get is just eating up space, and because of his pad level, it doesn't require two guys. He'll make a play here and there, but then he'll need to come off the field. Size is great, but there is such a thing as too big. And that's him right now. Deone Walker has a lot of the same traits, but isn't so overweight it takes him out of plays. That should be his goal, 330-350 lbs.

I’ve been pimping him for awhile.

He just destroyed GA’s OL when he faced them. He was a game wrecker causing constant disruption in the middle. Hard to run against the immovable object and even though he’s not fast, he’s definitely quick enough for that size.

GA’s OL had several players projected to go fairly early in the draft. It’s not like he was just playing against scrubs.

I would 100% think of grabbing him in the 6th or 7th…maybe even the 5th since he may have raised some eyebrows with that workout.

If memory serves didn’t FL deploy him as a FB too? Talk about a nightmare having that freight train coming at ya in short yardage situations.

If he gives 10 crucial plays a game that well warrants a late round flyer imo, sure he’s a role player and can only go 2-3 play spurts…but damn
Just watch what he did vs GA’s OL (think Truss may have been out that game but Wilson, Ratledge and Fairchild are all highly rated too)

Even if he’s just a short yardage specialist-something we could definitely use upgraded.

Heck he may even allow for Mike to run those 2 DL sets he sooooo loves.

They used him in short yardage at least a couple times.

Yeah, I know he was a RB in short yardage a few times with success, just couldn’t remember if he ever served as a blocker too.

Out short yardage could use some beef like him

problem with Watson is at that size, how is his cardio? when teams see him on the field, they can go quick passing, and he won't be able to get off the field quickly enough.

Yeah I got RB later than I thought so I thought I would double up. Helps get rid of Patterson too.
