Years ago I told my son that Tomlin was going to squander Ben's last years. But, I thought Tomlin knew he sucked and would retire when Ben did so he could save his legacy. Sucks that I was wrong there.

Now here we are. We won't have a qb for a few years, many of the guys will not have that second level because they know it will go no where, and TJ along with Cam, will know only also-ran status or worse.

That's not how it works. If you're talking about the draft, they are drafted, they play for who drafted them for the money their agent can negotiate. If they are a free agent, they simply go where the money is unless they are the handful - like Myles Garrett - who actually seems to care about winning a championship.

One could either not declare for the NfL draft or simply tell Mike ya think he’s a worthless POS at the combine if the plan is to enter through the draft

Neither alternate method is a smart strategy for maximizing income, but there are ways to avoid a team. Heck even top prospects like Elway and Manning made it happen…it can be done if one sets their mind to it. Simply tank an interview really bad or go social about your dislike/unwillingness to play in a certain market.

I’d go the route of telling Mike I think he runs a basic ***** scheme and I ain’t a basic ***** if interviewed by Tomlin/Steelers at the combine, pretty sure that would get ya off his board. Maybe tell him “you think George is nuts? You ain’t seen nothing yet bruh…just try drafting me”

This Steeler franchise reminds me of the Packers of the 70’s and 80’s living off what they did in the 60’s with those great Lombardi teams.
This owner is living off history and is more concerned with public perception now.
He thinks the Steelers way is the only way as other teams like the Ravens, Chiefs, Chargers, Texans, Broncos, Niners, Lions, Eagles, Redskins,Rams, all keep passing them by. Hell, the Bengals were in the SB just a few short years ago.
