Let’s be realistic for a minute.

So you are saying Tomlin and team exceeded expectations
They exceeded my expectations last regular season.

But my expectations were also of them riding with KFP till the wheels came off.

Mike was forced to move to Mason and Mason pulled a rabbit of a hat and the team rallied around him after being dead in the water.

Then they reached the playoffs and Captain Platitudes, Mediocre Mike, the human hurdle, the Mike-romanager woke up and realized it was the playoffs and blinked, pissed down his leg, and did his normal playoff turtle impression and hid in his conservative shell and fully met my expectations as I woke up after our first playoff matchup and realized it was Groundhog’s Day. Expectations met.

Not one member of the Tomlin Derangement Syndrome Crew can explain what they want and how the team is supposed to meet their expectations

When I suggested Ben gets traded in 2018, I was laughed at

When I suggest Watt is traded now, people call me crazy

There's one road to the championship as evidenced by the top teams in the league

Trying to piece together a competitive team is a fail. Calling it a rebuild is another fail.

And the longer you delay, the longer you stay right in the middle. Do you want this team to be competitive in 2028?

This franchise needs an implosion, a 4-13 season and multiple first rounders including a QB who can compete with Mahomes, Jackson, and Allen

I think the FO and coaching staff can handle that. If ownership is insisting on annual rebuilds, ownership is the problem
2 points:

You weren't here in 2018. Unless you had a different name......so what was your name before you transitioned to your new identity?

If that 4-13 season, which should have been the year that Ben hurt his elbow (and the Minkah trade), doesn't happen, how do you do that total overhaul without the top picks?

The steelers were 7-4 before Pickett got hurt. Pickett had his best game the previous game right after Canafa was fired. He was not doing too bad against AZ before the injury. The mistake was sticking with Mitch for so long

Truer words never spoken. Very sad, but oh so true.

Whatever his username was, at least he got the "I was laughed at" part correct.

Kenny would’ve Kennied

My post was about stopping the annual mediocrity and taking a step back to build a competitive team instead of letting Baltimore run away with the division for the next decade

You're welcome to comment on that. I just took you off of ignore

It is a good question though. What was your name in 2018? I am going to say not Coach.

I don't remember..and it may not have been 18

My point is no one wants to go through the pain
They want instant results
I want the pain to start ASAP

Last year he was Timeshavechanged.. the thread he was talking about was probably the one from last year

He came in hot under Timeshavechanged, so we thought he had prior accounts then too... so there may be an older version of the" tear it down and rebuild like the Ravens.." posts out there.

I dont think he gets that at this point, any total rebuild would come with a new head coach...

This could very well have turned out to be true. The fact is Mediocre Mike NEVER allowed him to go out and do his thing, we don't really know how it would have turned out.

Love to hear you support this argument, Detective Dog

You always back yourself into a corner like this.. then 200 words of nonsense about what you really meant

True to an extent as Mike creates hurdles for all Steelers players in the way of their success.

I’m gonna say the great Mikey who doesn’t coach anyone up didn’t coach KFP to act scatter brained and get skittish running himself from clean pockets into body slams tho or teach him to throw inaccurate as hell, etc.

Mike was and will always be a hurdle to offensive prowess and defensive dominance but KFP had lotsa warts that weren’t Mikes fault too.

But very true that it’s hard for a very mid at best player like KFP to put his best foot forward when Mike is always stacking another hurdle for that foot to leap over.

The hurdles seem to be applied due to your draft position or whether he really wanted the player or not.

I don't mean to imply that these factors were not all on KP. My point is that he was only allowed to run the play EXACTLY as it was written and called, and had 80% of the field declared off limits, that can contribute to his issues.

Mike has plenty of his own warts, no need to pile on those he is not responsible for

I was really hoping he would go somewhere he could get some playing time with a decent OC. I had hoped that he played good, then it would be an indictment of Tomlin's failures, which would open up the eyes of someone who has the balls to make a change.

I just read a couple of your posts. I'm in pain 😁
Is it my posts or a team that put together a 4 game losing streak to end the season

And now has to show up for a playoff game in Baltimore

All of that trash talk all season and now? Humiliation

Tomlin is at 183 wins

He is 12th all time.

Above him are:
1. Don Shula (328) retired at (65)
2. George Halas (318) retired at (72)
3. Bill Belicheat (302) retired at (71)
4. Andy Reid (273) active (66)
5. Tom Landry (250) retired at (64)
6. Curly Lambeau (226) retired at (55)
7. Paul Brown (213) retired at (67)
8. Marty Schottenheimer (200) retired at (63)
9. Chuck Noll (193) retired at (59)
10. Dan Reeves (190) retired at (59)
11. Chuck Knox (186) retired at (63)

He is only behind Andy Reid on the Active list..
But he also is only 52 years old...
behind him are:
Mike McCarthy (174) age (61)
John Harbaugh (171) age (61)
Sean Payton (169) age (61)

Then a huge gap to Sean McDermott (86) age (50)

In theory, if tomlin could average 9.5 wins per year and coached till he was 67, Tomlin could break Shulas record... but Id guess without substantial playoff success in the next 3 years he would move on elsewhere...
He would move on…

By his hand? Probably not

By the Rooney’s hand

Sadly probably not.

Fans would be wise not to hope in things that probably aren’t going to come to pass for a long long time.

His 1007 yards place 12th in the league.
But you need to be careful with the outdated "1,000 yard" measuring stick these days. Najee's ypc is under 4.0, that means he's nothing special. The top 2 RBs are mackin' it with 5.8 and 5.9 apcs, those are special apcs. Najee is no where near their league.

Meh....many different factors go into it. Tomlin/Smith have Harris running into more stacked boxes on 1st down than any other RB. Add in our sub play by our OL. Harris on the Ravens has a higher average. Henry on the Steelers has a lower average.

Higher, lower, add it all up and it's still a sh---y running game by a crap RB, with a crap play caller.
