From the cheap seats where I sit it appears Tomlin is overbearing and smothering. It's all his. His lackies carry out his orders.

The test for me was these games at the end of the year where they played real competition.

It always seems that Tomlin is going when he should be coming, and coming when he should be going. Look no further than his decisions on 4th down. I've always said that he literally would be better off doing the opposite of what his gut tells him.

To borrow from the political realm a couple of in-party observations about Joe Biden. Former secretary of defense, Robert Gates said in 2014 that "Biden has been on the wrong side of nearly every foreign policy decision of the past 40 years." And his boss Obama said "never underestimate the ability of Joe Biden to **** things up."

That's how you feel with Mike Tomlin at the controls.

They lost by 14, 17, and 19 and weren't remotely competitive on either side of the ball in any of the three games. Absolutely a meltdown as they were out there looking like a bottom 5 team.

It is with a renewal of bad choices that makes you feel this way; it's been occurring over and over again, into infinity. Tomlin f---s up nearly every decision he makes. Has he EVER got a challenge flag right? I mean EVER? I'm not even kidding.

The simple fact is, the D strategy has not changed in any measurable aspect since Tomlin forced out Dick LeBeau. Multiple Guys have assumed the DC position, yet the same glaring issues have remained. This only happens when the HC is dictating the scheme they will run. The common denominator is Tomlin. Austin will most likely be the scapegoat this time around.

Our front office and coaching staff has gotten clearly exposed these last 3 weeks. The gm has gotten rid of literally every player he couldnt take credit for. It’s left us with no wrs, qb, and a highly drafted but horrible offensive line and rbs that underachieve. On defense we have a full on mess that’s covered up by watts superhuman play. He makes literally every player on the defense better. If he’s hurt or God forbid out we’re screwed. This is a mediocre roster with an even more mediocre coaching staff. For the most part I don’t know what everyone’s complaining about, most Steelers fans have gotten used to this new now, the “medioce Steelers”, along time ago before Ben retired. He went and got his guys to install his scheme and made an immediate impact in 1 season.
He went out and boosted the OL, got a very smart route runner for Herbert, a solid RB and 2 late corners for depth that are contributing right away.

He turned them from pass happy to run based and took the load of Herbert and now they are I’d say a more legit contender than Tomlin’s Steelers. He did in 1 year what it is taking Tomlin over a decade to do.

Rooneys are stuck in the past with a coach with outdated schemes…but hey his scheme is good enough to not suck, and that is the standard. Cheers to not completely sucking!!!

Another Henry? Really? Harris is a lot better than what you believe he is. On a team as the Ravens or Eagles I think his stats would be way more impressive. I think the Rooney's want Tomlin to pass Noll and the 200 win mark. With 3 more years plus a game to go he just might do it. If not. They can always extend him a few more seasons. What what a magical number 200 would be for Tomlin. Only a few have reached that plateau.
