This needed it's own thread. Yes ladies and gentlemen, we have now devolved to new levels of insanity that we need anti-manspreading chairs:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">This anti-manspreading chair is absolutely brilliant <a href="https://t.co/gSrG0aBsg3">pic.twitter.com/gSrG0aBsg3</a></p>— Mashable (@mashable) <a href="https://twitter.com/mashable/status/1304144361249148928?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 10, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Retards. These social engineers are beyond retarded

Indeed. I think I'm going to laugh though because the company pushing this is called 'Mashable'. It can't get more perfectly ridiculous than that.

First, can I point out the obvious? We men have a package (our junk) conveniently located between our legs. Did Mensa Chairlady consider it is more difficult for a man to squeeze his legs together due to...anatomy? Also, is this ingenious chair designer aware that men and women differ in skeletal structure as well? Women's hips are wider, to accomodate for child bearing.

Having wider hips means womens’ legs are attached to the hips at a wider angle than mens’ hips.

Mens’ legs extend to the ground in more-or-less parallel lines like this:

| |

Pretend those two vertical lines are the legs. The top is where they attach at the hips, and the bottoms are the feet. Now stick a softball between those two lines at one end. The other end of parallel legs is "naturally" going to drift apart.

Now, a woman’s hips:

\ /

The tops of the lines (the open end of the V) are where the legs attach at the hips and the bottom is where the feet are at the ground. Even if the feet are shoulder-width apart there will still be a greater angle than mens’ legs.

Women's knees, due to the spread of the hips, are more inclined to converge or come together, whereas a man's are prone naturally to spread apart.

But hey let's change anatomy...because we are the Left and ****, we just change everything, even science.

Is the inventor of that chair(s) assuming gender and gender roles?

Lol, this is a couple years old. It was as ridiculous then as it is now. If i remember correctly, I think the creator wanted it to be more of a feminist statement and a way to remind men to stay in their place than an actual product she hoped would sell any serious number.

This brilliant idea is a couple years old?! I'm absolutely stunned this hasn't taken off!

Yeah I remember seeing this nonsense awhile back. Those chairs would be good for the soy boys.

This goofy chair tries to solve a nonexistent problem the same way society tries to solve all nonexistent problems. Treat group A as the monster that needs punishment and treat group B like victims and then encourage them to act like/punish group A the way they perceive they have been mistreated.
