I think I'm going to throw up
I was encouraged with some of the smaller moves Kahn made early on, but given what's gone at at the wide receiver position last year and quarterback right now, I have to question his ability as a GM. With Kahn being a "numbers guy," one has to wonder what he was thinking to allow Fields to walk for just an 5 extra million a year. This would have been the perfect time to put some faith in Fields as a starter, and found out if he could've turned the corner with the same OC for the first time in his career. Then they let Roberts go, and use $10 mill on his replacement, Malik Harrison, who is basically a special teams player. Like, why?I don’t know where the hell you got all that from me saying what I did about Omar Kahn.
I never, ever said or indicated players would be lining up to play here.
My criticism is vp of Omar Kahn who imo is not the a GM to run this team. He’s a numbers guy, a very good one but has had no experience in player scouting prior to his current position. Andy Weidel is the person that has proven experience and should be the GM not Omar.
He’s got played by the Aiyuk and SF and now is allowing to team to be held hostage by the the narcissist Rodgers. He’s should have locked up Justin weeks ago and the team could be filling holes now but no, they’re waiting on this tool and have missed out on signing quality DL and CBs.
These players care about money, period. Show them the money and they will come. It’s never been about a certain coach or team it’s about dead presidents and that’s all it is with them.
I’d like to have Rodgers but at this point I’d tell his agent that we need an answer by 5:00 pm on Friday or we’re moving on.
He’s never played under Arthur Smith’s offense.A mentor? The guy was benched how many times last season with full opportunities fora starting job? Went 1 and 4…….9 td’s 9 int’s. No wonder we are where we are if this is the guy that will provide mentorship for the next young QB. Good lord.
Look…I get what you’re trying to say, but c’mon. He’s been brought back for familiarity of the system. A system for the last 5 years that has been close to the bottom of the league offensively. Oh Joy.
What a ****-show.
We are in shambles folks.
Mason can mentor the third-string guy on how to hold a clipboard. He's pretty good at that.A mentor? The guy was benched how many times last season with full opportunities fora starting job? The Pittsburgh Pirates!I was encouraged with some of the smaller moves Kahn made early on, but given what's gone at at the wide receiver position last year and quarterback right now, I have to question his ability as a GM. Now he's bringing back a quarterback in Rudolph who is nothing more than a career backup, and the Steelers basically have their fingers up their @sses, waiting on the musings of a 41-year old has-been. Don't be surprised if they end up crawling to Russ, and this shitshow can start another act with two QBs who have already proved that they can't accomplish anything in Pittsburgh.
Between the Penguins and Steelers, it's hard to say which team is being more mismanaged at this point.
I'm used to the Pirates being f-ed up. That's a given. What Kyle Dubas has done to my beloved Penguins organization, though, it's just really disappointing. The Pittsburgh Pirates!
Sports team owners in Pittsburgh are bad, real bad.
Yeah I hear ya! I hate to see Sydney Crosby being on a crappy team like that at the end of his great career. I kind of knew as most that when Mario sold the team it would start to go south.I'm used to the Pirates being f-ed up. That's a given. What Kyle Dubas has done to my beloved Penguins organization, though, it's just really disappointing.
Here we go already with the FFL Mason Rudolph Excuse Express Train...all aboard! He’s never played under Arthur Smith’s offense.
And have pole position
Excuse? Because I corrected someone’s incorrect statement about Mason “familiarity with the system” which he has never ran. Here we go already with the FFL Mason Rudolph Excuse Express Train...all aboard!
What they don't admit is that it's been "down" for more then a decade.Shades and Deuce will NOT have a down year and will sign every vet they can find to get to 9 wins.
You don't take Toronto Maple Leaf's junk. That's for sure.I'm used to the Pirates being f-ed up. That's a given. What Kyle Dubas has done to my beloved Penguins organization, though, it's just really disappointing.
If you go back, you and I were one of the very few on here that thought Mason got shafted when they brought in Mitch as a starter. Mason was supposedly being promoted to #1 after Big Ben. At that time I was totally for them playing him all year to get it over with and see exactly what he had. I was totally against signing Mitch. He’s never played under Arthur Smith’s offense.
By all accounts he was a great teammate. From all reports he helped Kenny and Mitch as much as he could in 2022.
As for the type of mentor or coach a guy can be because of stats I would strongly disagree with your opinion. Kevin O’Connell had 23 yards passing in the nfl. Is he a bad coach or QB developing coach? Kellen Moore had 779 passing yards and has been talked about for years as a qb guru and now is a head coach.
Now will he be any of that? No clue. But the one and only accolade Roethlisberger said about Rudolph, and he said it more than once, is he’s a smart guy. Makes me think he probably does a good job in film study and helps the QB room. Can’t complain about a 4m backup who can start if needed, even if not ideal, and at the very least be a good addition to the QB room.
2 months to the 58th anniversary, lolYou don't take Toronto Maple Leaf's junk. That's for sure.
I guess you supposedly corrected me. Obviously we disagree. I think it is Tomlin’s system just as much as it was Canada’s or Arthur’s. Which is why I said the familiarity of the system.Excuse? Because I corrected someone’s incorrect statement about Mason “familiarity with the system” which he has never ran.
Nobody wants to overdraft a QB. But the reality is you take more of a chance with a QB than other positions. For obvious reasons.I think the last thing the should do is overdraft a qb if they don't get a retread franchise guy.
I 100% agree we got caught with our pants down. Now it looks like all our eggs are in a 41 year old QB with an attitude problem and bum leg. Not ideal. I think they thought they had Fields signed but the Jets offered him a lot of guaranteed money and I don’t we wanted to match a 75% guaranteed contract. Not that 30 million is that much but probably not what we wanted especially if they are hoping to find a long term solution in the draft. Now A-A-Ron is holding us hostage with Russ Wilson getting tire kicks around the league. If he’s gone and Rodgers doesn’t sign we are definitely upIf you go back, you and I were one of the very few on here that thought Mason got shafted when they brought in Mitch as a starter. Mason was supposedly being promoted to #1 after Big Ben. At that time I was totally for them playing him all year to get it over with and see exactly what he had. I was totally against signing Mitch.
Perhaps I am hasty judging my mentoring comment. Although your comment “ from all reports he helped Kenny and Mitch as much as he could “ certainly doesn’t bode well for Mason. They both sucked.
Personally,If someone is to be a mentor I’d like to think they’ve been successful in their occupation. While his bank account is successful,I certainly don’t think you could say he’s had a successful career on the field. But I get what you’re saying,it’s not 100% statistical.
I think my frustration is just the lack of planning. And it’s been going on for years. Everyone and their dog knew we had no QB’s under contract for 2025. One could say the same thing for going into 2024. Fields and Wilson just fell into their laps. And let’s face it they were cheap. I’ve always been the one to say drafting your QB is the way to go,with the all important 5 year rookie deal. It’s why I was against trading for Aiyuk and then Metcalf this year. Giving up high draft choices is huge and leaves you less bargaining power if you want to move up. Nothing is more important than getting your future QB.
I thought you meant Arthur Smith’s offense.I guess you supposedly corrected me. Obviously we disagree. I think it is Tomlin’s system just as much as it was Canada’s or Arthur’s. Which is why I said the familiarity of the system.

Sense when???Makes since for both sides
Mine too. Fordie sends them to him for us...Kahn is reading my posts.
I don’t necessarily think so. Just depends on who is there in the third … that is where I think they would pull the trigger or the 4th…The Mason signing tells me if Russ returns or Aaron Rodgers is signed .. that removes drafting a QB this year..
