Mason showed some real guts

Just like any other position, when you do not have a clear #1, you simply do not have a clear best QB.

The Steelers have two guys that have been held back by their individual situations and the younger, less experienced hope for the future.

Until one guy is clearly the QB1, it really doesn't matter much what anyone thinks, with the only interesting factor being that some other team may get desperate at QB and look to trade for one of our vet QBs.

Maybe after preseason game 2 we will know the clear QB1, at least to start the season.

I think they are clearly set on Mitch at this point. Mason showed he is ready to play if needed but not quite as mobile. Pickett needs to sit if even for just a few games so he sin't the the guy who followed Ben.

I’ve called 6 different cities/towns home in my lifetime. Pittsburgh is definitely the best place I’ve lived. It’s often ranked as one of the best places to live in the US.

This is my feeling. I think they should ride with Mitch. I wouldn't bother trading Masin. He might be handy for a two week stint if Mitch is hurt. Then if it falls apart go with Kenny for the experience.

Sure but in preseason before his first play? At least wait until he screws up. I don't know why he would ever want to come back to this city if he did play well and was negotiating a contract. The fans have been brutal to him. Way too many just today are saying they hate him for how he acted in Cleveland.
 
I think if this team stays healthy they win 10 games or more. Will largely come down to health and maturity / gell of the Oline. They are honestly stacked with weapons at wide out, TE and a stud rb. I'm very confident they will get at least middle of the pack play from the Q.
And when you factor first half second half did they really get middle of the pack play from the Q last year?

I didn't get so see Rudy booed, but have to agree it shouldn't have been done since he hadn't done anything to be booed for. Be a fan for your team. Anyway, maybe a lot of those boo's came from the Pitt alumni crowd that came to see Kenny? Also, nasty ******** can be found anywhere. Cincy for example - and Cleveland. My daughter and I had a bad experience in Cincy vs Steelers.
 
Mason Rudolph would have to play great and win a SB and play great doing for some to accept him. He needs a fresh start but probably doesn't get it this year. He will get a gig next year and if someone gets hurt or it's a situation like Seattle this year he would get an honest shot.
 
I think that all of you people who are putting all your faith in Trubisky, are going to be disappointed before game #8.

I think most people are taking a wait and see approach. I am not sure you put a ton of faith in any of the three choices this year. Unless one plays to it.

Nah, I see Trubisky as a guy who can get a team as a lower seed into the playoffs to a guy who may only get to 6-7 wins if the OL and defense struggles. What I feel very confident with is that he offers the Steelers a better chance to win games than Rudolph and is a guy who can keep the seat warm for Pickett. Anyone that tells you they truly believe Trubisky can take the Steelers on a deep playoff run is lying.

I was going to mention the Pitt contingent as well, there were many dressed in their Pitt colors some of whom may have no love for the steelers to begin with. I'm not saying they were the only ones, just saying it probably added to the hostile reception for Rudolph.

The only people I saw dressed in Pitt gear was the Pitt football team.

I hear yaz SteelerInLebanon, people don't care anymore because no one is ever help responsible. Parents want to be "friends" instead of parenting. My DAD would have said something and holding me accountable had we been sitting together and I boo'd any player.

It's that meMEme mentality regardless of age that seems to take over in a crowd.

Very possible, I just noticed the blue shirts but I still think that the whole Pitt QB, 1st round pick etc. was playing on some of the fans negativity more than they're disappointment with Rudolph.

And I’ve been to a lot of away games… there are morons in every fanbase… if that were Philly they probably would have thrown batteries at him…

A lot of that sentiment last night is probably because both of the main sports talk radio stations in the town have shat on Rudolph from day one, and have cultivated that idiotic hatred of him…

the guy is so so qb...get him in the red zone and the best you can hope for is a field goal
