ROCK HILL, S.C. – Authorities searched for clues Thursday in the nation's latest shooting spree after police say a former NFL player gunned down five people, including a beloved doctor and his two young grandchildren, before killing himself in a quiet neighborhood.

Phillip Adams, 32, who played cornerback for teams including the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots, was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his family's home, down the street from the massacre in Rock Hill – a city of about 75,000 that sits near the northern border of South Carolina, the York County Sheriff's Office said.

"There's nothing about this right now that makes sense to any of us," York County Sheriff Kevin Tolson said Thursday afternoon at a news conference. "We are working hard to provide some answers."

That seems to be a common thing in these mass shootings. After every shooting, someone knew the shooter had mental issues, or saw him acting strange or whatever. Someone always knows the shooter is messed up, but amazingly no one ever says or does anything.

That seems to be a common thing in these mass shootings. After every shooting, someone knew the shooter had mental issues, or saw him acting strange or whatever. Someone always knows the shooter is messed up, but amazingly no one ever says or does anything.

I’ve noticed this.

Sometimes I do dive into conspiracy theories and think maybe the government used these stories as an attempt to push for a law.

They do these brain scans and find deterioration but that's misleading because there are many reasons other than concussions where these deteriorations naturally occur. People have played sports with high risk of concussions for hundreds of years, only now do we have to have an excuse for bad behavior or a justification for bad choices. I am not saying that CTE is not real, but it seems like now there is an automatic excuse for any poor behavior. Much like society as a whole right now, there is a lack of accountability and responsibility for your own actions, someone or something else is always to blame.

I am against abortion except for a few cases such as (rape, mothers life in grave danger, etc etc), but on the flip side if these 40+ million babies were not aborted what would happen to society. Chances are most of these would be born in bad situations and not have much chance at success in life. The responsible thing would be to put babies up for adoption, but if the mothers cant take care of themselves are they really going to take proper care of their bodies while pregnant. The argument of pro-choice is bogus. You had a choice whether to have sex or not and take proper precautions. You are basically down to having 40+ million kids grow up in mostly **** environments or having abortions. I do not know of any good solutions.

Most of the women that have abortions have other children. There wouldn't be 40+ million more children. They simply would have the original child and not have the ones they had later. Also since some women use abortion as birth control, they would immediately get medical services to make sure they wouldn't get pregnant.

You can’t truly diagnose CTE until someone is dead because you need to cut their brain into tiny slices and look at them under an electron microscope. Two careers ago I worked in a psychiatric hospital where we did just that. I was only the guy who shipped the research all over the world. Before CTE was a thing, one of our patients was a pre-Super Bowl era Steeler who shall remain nameless.
