Mike Tomlin destroying the Steelers.

I hope he is hired just to show how inept he is. If it's a good team he'll screw it up like he did here. If it's a bad team he'll fit right in.

That would be a dream scenerio. But I'm not sure Tomlin would take a position with a bad franchise and ruin his "legendary" reputation.

I would have let him go about 5 years ago.
 
The Steelers are 3-7 in their last 10 playoff games, and 2-8 in their last 10 overall.

The arrow on Mike Tomlin is not pointing up.

And this is why, in my other ridiculed thread, the Rooney's don't really care that much about winning and are satisficed with mediocrity. I can't believe there aren't other minority coaches out there that would be 100% better.

The Steelers simply get by on legacy/brand these days. The winnning seems to be on the back burner. The nfl has done it’s job in marketing/branding and establishing it’s presence as a cultural force.

Complacency brings forth mediocrity but because of the legacy, we all tune in.

Whenever someone gets ****** with me in the Steelers FB groups about "Who would you replace him with?", I always respond ASAP with Eric Bieniemy or Duce Staley.

Cannot blame Duce. I own a couple of those team issued sweatsuits. Reebok and nike. Those get ups are comfy and thicker than phat booty. Warmth during the winter

I said last year when he got an extension that I wouldn't have given him one unless he at least got to the Super Bowl.
Tomlin is basically Marvin Lewis with a better owner.

They've been content with mediocrity for a very long time. They also destroyed the Steeler brand of football. You're correct on legacy. It's just a name and colors that connect them. The past Steeler teams would beat the **** out of these guys.


The big money involved destroyed the game as it was. Now it's just a circus.

Exactly. Maybe I’m getting old but the nfl as a whole seems like that. Players seemed more skilled and tougher when I watched in 90’s and 2000’s.
