Mike Tomlin destroying the Steelers.

I said last year when he got an extension that I wouldn't have given him one unless he at least got to the Super Bowl.
Tomlin is basically Marvin Lewis with a better owner.
He won the SB surrounded by people who really knew what they were doing we are getting a real good glimpse of what post Ben Tomlin Tampa two teams will look like.

I'd hire Byron Leftwich, if it meant a change. Him or Bieniemy are SB winning OCs. They are qualified for a serious look.

There are many variables that keeps MT here. The dreaded no losing seasons, the players love him and his win/loss record. He HAS to be the one to walk away like Cowher.

Well BEN will not be back and SBWMVLT may rethink and actually walk.

My greatest fear at this point is that they will reach for a QB in the draft and pass on a true talent later - ala Malone in 1980 and a pass on Marino 3 years later.

I think Marvin did more with less
You think so?
Carson Palmer
Ocho cinco
Whosyourmomma

He had a pretty decent roster in the mid 2000’s.
Who is to say what would’ve happened if Carson didn’t blow out his leg.

Tomlin just signed his extension. He could have a **** record this year and still not be on the hot seat. He isn't going anywhere, anytime soon. If he does, I would be shocked. So, quit bitching about it for a couple more years. Then, maybe it will mean something if we have 2 or 3 **** seasons in a row with no franchise QB.

My prediction is we get over the injury bug and the players will dig in and figure this out and jell… nfl is like war.. you have figure out why your fighting and answer is your fighting for the guy next to you in the fox hole… we’re just not a “team” yet… Harris, clay, Muth, and mostly the line will get it figured out… just as everyone writes us off we raise our ugly head and get out own licks in… playoff team no… decides who does go to play offs… yes

That's part of the problem, Coach Tomlin knows no matter what his job is secure. MANY here know the same thing and that is partly what fuels the animosity towards him. We as fans don't have to deal with the big picture of owning a BILLION+ dollar business so we can be a little bit more fickle than the owner can be. PROFIT is the driving factor and Art Deuce is definitely a business man first, football man 2nd.

None of us know the outcome of our season or if Coach Tomlin can right the ship but one thing I do know is that it all starts at the top and for a team that is the Head Coach, Mr. Tomlin. No matter how many Tomlinisms he throws out he will be judged by what happens on the field of play and currently that is being questioned.

There will be no coaching firings or changes this season, least ways publicly. We all have a right to speculate and choose the noise our breath makes as it leaves our lungs but also we know nothing will change this year. I'm doubtful as to weather any new players will be added unless major injury occurs.

We must HOPE the OL significantly advances themselves. We must also hope for somewhat scheme change and more devotion to the run. Some here have said turn over the offensive play calling to BEN but you must realize a majority of whats being called has Ben's input on it. He may be able to improve but Ben wants to pass happy and what is really needed is disciplined RUN game.

Onboard fan with a view.

Wow, now I'm inspired.

The 2021 Steelers: "We win just enough games to make us a spoiler, and get a middling draft pick so we can repeat the process."

Right now, I'd be surprised if we aren't 1-5 at the bye and 1-6 the week after. Then we get Chicago and Detroit at home. Maybe we can beat them. After that, I see no game I'd say we have a real good shot at winning - at least not the way we are currently playing. If we continue down the path we are headed, we are definitely looking at a top 10 pick and possibly a top 5 pick. But, somehow, Tomlin will figure a way to win enough to get us back to the middle of the pack and we'll get another useless. Pick. It sucks there aren't at least 3 top QB's this year. I don't know if I'd draft a QB in Rd. 1 if we had a top 10 pick unless we want a 6 footer. If that's the case, he better have a cannon for an arm, unbelievable accuracy, and significant scrambling ability to go along with very high-end smarts. 6 for or even 6'-1" QB's are definitely at a disadvantage in the NFL. They can work out but it is rare.

I don't know of any "can't miss" QB prospects coming out next year. The best choice would be to see how the season plays out, draft for O-Line and if you have another **** season, you may at least be in position to pick up a decent QB.

Between Mason and Haskins, I assume they can win a few games and at least keep the lights on. I have no illusions whatsoever that Tomlin can win a playoff game, but honestly, the long term strategy has to be a complete rebuild from the O-line up with an eye on fielding some kind of defense as you waste Watt's career.

I've been in the same boat.
Though with how the NFL is progressing, pocket passers are going to go the way of the dinosaur.

I've been impressed with Bo Nix this season. He's made a lot of gains since last year.

Don't sell us short on drafting physical outliers like Bush and Green. Tomlin thinks he is smarter than the NFL and a midget QB would be right up his alley.

Agreed, no one in the 2022 QB class is NFL ready unless the Steelers go trendy and draft Lamar light, as there are a few QB's who are hybrids. Sam Howell and Carson Strong are the only two worth a damn but they're projects and will need some time to develop. Strong's arm is elite level and the boy can drop dimes, but can he read a defense and go through progressions? I dunno.

You notice under this staff and Tomlin we have no personality, we have lost all physicality, we have no leaders, we have no characters to get this team fired up, no discipline. Let Tomlin be rehired no one cares we need a shake up and now is the time. Nothing is working and Tomlin's post games are enough to make you throw up.

So you're saying in 18-20 years we will have near all # 1 draft choices on offense and defense for our re-build..........?

I was commenting to a friend this morning about just that. We have no identity of aNY KIND. We are soft and clueless I said hell even the lowly teams of the 80s had n identity and never lost the physicality, a STEELERS staple as to who we are.

You are joking? Tomlin would be hired within days if not hours of leaving.

I wonder if we could put out some feelers and see if there'd be any takers in a trade (ala 2002 Oakland trade of Gruden to TB for draft picks and cash.) Hey, one can dream...

Let's assume our key players get healthy, or OL plays better, etc. etc..... the common denominator to years' worth of frustration in Steeler Nation will still be there.. .the head coach.

Like Tommy Maddox did.

I don't think it will take that long, and I doubt there will be too many #1s involved. However, I do think it will take some time for the coaching staff to find guys that make the team particularly dominant again. And I don't think T.J. Watt is going to walk out of the building with any SB rings on his fingers.
