Mike Tomlin Gets One-Year Extension

Damn, fella - you're hard to please...

Interestingly, Heineken is fundamentally flawed beer. Heineken is purposefully "light struck" which means it is allowed to be exposed to sunlight which causes "skunk" flavors in the beer. Those famous 'green bottles', they're not just for decoration. They are transparent green purposefully to allow light in to mildly "skunk" the beer.

True story. (Having a brewer around is handy!)

I don't let them sit around that long for any skunking to occur.

Now enjoy...

Looks like a good drinking buddy!!!!

Rich Eisen said the Steelers nation need to relax!

That's awesome Rich. And when Ben is done in three years then what??? The absolute juice of the best QB in team history will be wasted. Someone else can have him in two minutes. I can name 6 coaches off the top of my head with huge resumes that moved on and did **** all.

And P.S. if he's guarenteed success wherever he goes I will take two first round picks and you can have him. He's all yours.

Nooooooooooooooooo!

Great, he can continue to **** up any chance Roethlisberger has of getting back to the SB.

****!

Downside, Shades got an extension. Upside, it's only for one year which kinda sends a message. I hope.

anyone that thought that they would bring in a new HC in Ben's last years is clearly misguided. They will win/lose with that duo. If Ben is running the show like many say is, he doesn't want a major shake-up like that. There's a comfort there and gotta accept it.

Ben probably likes Coach Shades because appearances are that he pretty much leaves the offense alone and Ben and Fichtner can do WTF they want while he tinkers with the defense. Probably why the offense has been running well and the defense sucks and he's never drafted or developed a decent DB since he's been here. Chew on that.

There was no need for this. I guess Ben plays out the rest of his hall of fame career without playing in another super bowl. With cool shades running the team, the standard shall remains the same. Playoff cokes, losing to bad teams, poor coaching.

As they say in sports, you cannot cut the owner. Art Rooney II....FU

I remember last year in TC, Ben said "a full day, a half day, and a day off" works great for him at this stage of his career.

I wonder if Brady follows that same strict TC regimen?

I'd trade Tomlin and a 6 pack for Hairball every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

You better have three-ply towel paper after you drink that chyt...

I don't drink that "chyt", as my response two posts down from the original clearly stated.

And what does three-ply towel paper have to do with that beer exactly, I'm just honestly confused by that statement.

You can't fix stupid. Good luck trying. Three-Ply Towel paper? So says the guy who once wrote Dan Marino won the super bowl.

You'd trade Tomlin for Harbaugh twice on Sundays? The guy who drafted Lamar Jackson in the first round? The guy who's gone 32-32 in his last 4 seasons and went 1 and done in his first postseason showing in those four years? Think I'm going to have to disagree on that one.

I'm sarcastic...don't worry about the joke!

But I bet Pabst gives you the chyts!!!

Now you can't even show up to training camp in a helicopter. You used to be able to shoot at them.

Heinys just always tasted heavy to me. I can drink like two and I feel full. Never cared for it.

Shades is far from perfect, hell I'd say he's mediocre on a good day, but he's still better than Hairball.

Fixed it for ya

Didn't Cowher win a SB a year before he retired? He was on his next to last year. It didn't hurt that team with doubts.

Again, I don't think Tomlin is going anywhere. They'll re-sign him until he gets ready to leave. Which will probably be when Ben retires. He knows that without Ben he isn't winning a damn thing.

Not the same thing...At this time, Cowher had 3 years left in his contract, so we have no idea in 2005 that the 2006 season was going to be his last season

In 2006, when Cowher had not signed a contract extension with 2 years left, it was a distraction, so much so that the steelers had started 2-6 and the focus was not there.

Of course, Roethlisberger's accident did not help, but it was still an awful year for the steelers.
