Agree but I also think that other teams were figuring out how to beat DLB's defense and he was unwilling to change. The short pass was always his Achilles Heel.

If the short pass was always the achilles heal then how could they just be figuring it out? Every defense has a chink in it. The problem with DLs defense was the type of players he was getting and Tomln was getting more involved.

yep, everyone bitched we didn't play enough man defense and bitched about Lebeau unwilling to change, but then he goes to Tenn and they are in the top 3 defenses in the amount of time they played man defense, meanwhile here the Steelers without Lebeau, still played more zone than any other team in the NFL.
So let's connect the dots. 1. it was being reported that Tomlin was started to get involved in the D. 2. We played a ton of zone, and refused to play man defense. 3. Lebeau was taking all the heat for the lack of man played. 4. DL leaves, goes to Tenn they run almost more man than anybody in the NFL. 5. DL is no longer here, yet we play more zone than any other team in the NFL.

And as fans we heard many other fans say "I can't wait until Tomlin can run HIS defense" in response to those perceived frustrations with DL.

The old adages "the devil you know" and "careful what you wish for" are instructive.

In the big picture, Arians was replaced and Ben forced to alter his game somewhat. Haley was moved out for further adjustments. Why does it seem that the only person not "making adjustments" or being forced to change is Mike Tomlin?

I guess we can hope that Art mandating a dedicated challenge-assistant is a start, but Tomlin's stubbornness is dyed-in-the-wool and highlighted by his refusal through the years to rotate RB carries.
