Mitch Trubisky

If I hadn't watched Ben have the same struggles last year that Mitch had today, I could point the finger at him. No he wasn't awesome or anything, but I just think that Matt Canada simply does not put his players in a position to succeed, especially the QB. It is the same **** show as last year. No one is going to confuse Trubisky with Mahomes, but Mitch is a capable player. Canada's offense is feeding players to the wolves.

The O-line wasn't as bad as I expected today....Mitch had time to throw but he just isn't very good! He's the same guy we watched make the same mistakes over and over in Chicago. In Chicago it was all Nagy's fault. So now who's fault is it?

The run blocking was poor, but the pass protection was respectable. Mitch left plays on the table, yet the plays he was given to run were uninspired.

QB or OC, here is what I know. This offense produced 16 points with a +5 turnover advantage. They still can’t run the ball for **** and 90% of the passing game is short of the sticks. Defenses know the OL is soft and can’t protect so they stack the box. Looks just like last year. You know, when Ben was the problem.

Now apparently, Mitch is the problem. Every QB is the problem except Kenny Pickett who hasn’t played. Maybe the OL, the OC and the offensive philosophy is the problem.
Truth

It hurt my ears when they said
The Steelers really invested in the OL this offseason with 70 million dollars

And this is the steaming pile
Of **** we bought?!?!

Good thing we have a genius level OC, whew!

Mason is the third string QB for anyone calling for him to start.

Canadian offense designed to utilize the much wider field played on in Canada, obviously.

It’s a ****** college offense with lateral
Movement to take advantage of the slower speed of NFL players vs the obviously faster speed in college.

It hurts to watch the ineptitude in action/motion

And just like Ben did so many times (6-7?) last year when we got down to desperation time Mitch was somehow able to overcome Canada.

The Bengals D-line is no joke. They are one of the best in the league and we had 0 running game. The oline gave some time occasionally, but Mitch was gun shy so it is hard to just settle in and flip that switch. He definitely missed some passes most notably the long one to Pickens. Playcalling was terrible and we pretty much ignored PF till the end of the game. I really dont think Pickett or anyone else would have done much better. Would you rather have Mitch's game or Burrows 4 INT game? People need to chill and give Mitch at least a few more games. Most people counted this game as an automatic loss to come out with a win is a bonus.

In case your wondering the Steelers had 12 offensive drives this game....

5 drives 3 & OUT
5 drives they converted one first down
1 drive 2 first downs
1 drive 4 first downs

They were 4 for 15 on 3rd down conversions.

Is that 9 first downs in the entire 5Qs?

QB isn’t the problem.. OL is garbage

Trubisky had good time today to throw the football. He was sacked once in 42 drop backs....scrambled 3 times for 9 yds rushing. I'm not saying the O-line wasn spectacular but he had plenty of time to throw that football back there today and he really looked "BELOW THE LINE" for most of the day. Factor in 2 incredible catches one by Claypool & one by Johnson both ridiculous one-handed grabs and if they don't make those catches Trubisky completes 50% of his throws today.

I think he is going to get the riot act read to him. If TJ is lost for the year and the O doesn't improve by October don't be surprised if Tomlin takes the play calling away from him.
Oh ****, that ain't gonna help.

Mitch did nothing wrong, we had no running game, when Mitch had time no one is getting open, he did not turn the ball over. He had two drives to put us in a position to win in overtime and we won.. No one expected us to win against a loaded team. Canada calls the plays Mitch as Ben is delt the play called. Running with a loaded defensive line makes no sense and those plays to Claypool what each one was for three yards. He had pressure more than not, the line allowed a good defensive line to be on Mitch so we witnessed the same as last year drop off passes.

I just hope KP was able to "sit and learn" a great deal today from the valuable mentorship of Mitch on how to hold the ball for 5 secs and overthrow open WRs by 5 yards

Mitch didn't do anything to lose the game. No TOs. He surely didn't light the field on fire, but he was eh, ok. The offense just doesn't scare anyone and will not until they can air it out and back the D off from loaded fronts. His first real game in a long time, on the road, in hostile territory, so give him a few more weeks before we toss him in the garbage.

We really need to hope Cole and Najee are good or this season will take an ugly turn south. Losing TJ is a gut punch already.

Anyone that thinks Mitch or Ben were the problems with this offense, they are delusional. This is a scheme, coaching, and OL clusterfuck.
This is definitely a scheme/OC thing. Mitch was afraid to make a mistake, so even when he had time he was hesitant to toss it.

Canada fricked his confidence today

Wasn't Cole back in the game at the end?
