Let's mock it!

  • Round 2, Pick 49 overall

1- Lucas Van Ness DE- was a hard decide with Branch and Broderick there. But Lucas can play 0 to 5 tech. Love this kids upside. Almost went with Broderick..

2A -Anton Harrison, OT- Sanders was a strong consider but I wanted to go trenches early if the value was close.

2B-Darnell Washington, TE - With pass rush mixed with trenches addressed early I want with an option I felt could help as much as a slot WR. Washington not only would give the TE group a solid 1 2 punch but brings better blocking potential to the table as well.

3-Andrew Vorhees G- Really wanted to bring competitive to the O-Line. Not only does a picking a G and T early bring competition to the starters but it also brings better depth to a group that was light previously.

4-Zacch Pickens, DL- I helped the offensive line out well but wanted to equally follow suit with the DL.

7A -Stetson Bennett IV, QB. I know they had their eyes on 3 to 4 other QBs but I thought at the combine Bennett did enough to where I wouldn't mind a closer look.

7B- Derek Parish, EDGE Houston. Has some pass rush ability. If he sticks he adds needed depth.

Vorhees suffered some leg injury at the combine. Not a great look for a guy who battled injuries his entire senior season.

Thanks I will have to dig into it and see the severity.👊

  • Best LT in the draft, very high ceiling DT/5-tech guy, superb Edge player with the traits Steelers love (not even 22 yet, very long arms, strong against the run), excellent ILB, productive CB (particularly zone), a DL project and a WR project. I'd take it.

Paris went off the board at 11.

  • Round 4, Pick 120 overall

  • Round 7, Pick 243 overall
1.17 Broderick Jones LT
2.32 Mazi Smith DT
2.49 Jack Campbell ILB
3.80 Riley Moss CB, just to not repeat Brents from Slashsteel Mock
4.120 Tyler Steen T/G
7.236 Will Mallory TE
7.243 Michael Jefferson WR

  • Round 1, Pick 17 overall - Broderick Jones. Branch was very tempting, but I really want to secure our OL and protect Kenny
  • Round 2, Pick 32 overall - Cody Mauch. As stated above, I want to improve the OL and protect Kenny. Probably drafted him earlier than necessary.
  • Round 2, Pick 49 overall - Tyrique Stevenson. Even if we sign Sutton (we will), we need more quality at CB
  • Round 3, Pick 80 overall - Byron Young (Bama). Our DL is aging and we need some strong youth infusion. Young can step in at NT
  • Round 4, Pick 120 overall - Zacch Pickens. Same reason as above, due to aging DL. Solid depth and can provide rotation
  • Round 7, Pick 236 overall - Terell Smith, CB, Minnesota
  • Round 7, Pick 243 overall - Jeremy Banks, LB, Tennessee. Not flashy, but solid.

  • Round 1, Pick 17 overall - Brian Branch, S, Alabama. Just fits the defense and makes it better, no matter where he plays. Jones was hard to pass on, though.
  • Round 2, Pick 32 overall - Anton Harrison, LT, Oklahoma. Missed on Jones, but Harrison should be very good for a long time.
  • Round 2, Pick 49 overall - Cody Mauch, OL. Can play anywhere on the OL. I'd put him at LG to pair with Harrison for a decade.
  • Round 3, Pick 80 overall - Julius Brents, CB, Kansas State. Excellent player at a position we need more good play from
  • Round 4, Pick 120 overall - Zacch Pickens, DT, South Carolina. Overshown was available, but no ILB is worth a damn if they're being hammered by the C and Gs all day
  • Round 7, Pick 236 overall - Terell Smith, CB, Minnesota.
  • Round 7, Pick 243 overall - Sean Clifford, QB, Penn State. Similar game style as Pickett. Good backup that wouldnt require changing the game plan too much.

the Texans offered a hell of a deal to move up one spot to grab Josh Downs WR

As a huge Penn State fan. I can tell you that you don't want this choke artist anywhere near the Steelers. Not even as a backup. If there is one position the Nittany Lions have never given the NFL, it's a good QB. Todd Blackledge & Kerry Collins were the best they've given...yeah, exactly! And don't mention Jeff Hostetler, he started all of three games for Joe Pa and transferred to WVU, he don't count

That's not the consensus board

Trades on that site are crazy. I was offered 2 #1 a #2 and #3 for our 32nd pick.
