"Najee Harris ain't it". NAJEE 3.0 It's time to go, yo....

He will go somewhere else and look a lot better. Our coaching staff is incompetent. I like what they've done in the draft the last couple years though. Problem is, there's nobody to develop any of them.

Of course it’s not his fault on how he was being used, still doesn’t change the fact that his role has to change and I’m not sure coaching can handle on how to do that. Adjustment doesn’t seem to be a strength of Coach Tomlin.

I am praying Tomlin lets/is forced to let Smith or someone have full control of the offense, preferably someone younger and new. That may be the best we can hope for.

Omar did the right thing putting Naj on notice & Najee with everything on the line produced the exact same way as always...No vision, no speed, no burst & his answers on interviews can leave one puzzled

We need a new RB...We cannot win with 3 yards & a cloud of dust with Najee 3.0

I wish I had a stat for how many 3 yard runs I have seen from him in his 3 years...Like literally EVERY RUN OF HIS

Man I soooooo wanted to like Harris, but as Sean McCoy said about Naj last week "I think we can ALL agree Najee Harris ain't it"...

Najee ain't it...

1000 empty yards for 4 straignt years...1000 yards in 17 games is pretty anemic...1000 yards meant something at 14 games, 17 games? Not so much...All hi "1000 yard seasons are "barely" over 1000 yards...Such relative small production from such a big back..

Najee ain't it...

NAJEE 3.0 It's time to go, yo....
Saquon Barkley averaged 3.9 ypc with the Giants last year. Derrick Henry averaged 4.2 you with the Titans in 2023. Don’t be surprised is Harris lights it up with a team that can block in 2025.

I think the problem is equal part Najee and Steelers staff, both are to blame. What RB is gonna excel with 4 defenders waiting for him in the backfield?

I hope the stillers make him a decent offer to stay, but will probably low ball him. 3.97 ypa this year behind a poorly coached patchwork line. Rarely fumbles. Blocks okay when needed...never really saw him get blown up. Catches pretty well. No attitude. Not a head case. No off the field issues. Not a locker room cancer. Durable. He'll leave here and be a stud someplace. Too bad.

So how is it equal part on the RB when he is being hit in the backfield? When Najee gets in space he looks pretty good, the team just does not do it enough. I hope they work out something to keep Najee, but its not looking likely. On a good team being used as the workhorse I think he will be a 1200 -1300 yrd back and could be a 500 yrd receiver. Most teams rotate backs alot so just depends on the situation. He does not have break away speed, but he is not as slow as people make him out to be. The year before he was one of the top backs for 20+ yrd runs. I think we have enough talent on the Oline we just need proper scheme and coaching. Meyers / Tomlins system is not it. Unfortunately I think its going to take another nation wide "Fire Canada" movement to get the proper changes.

Anything like that. All ideas including like Darnold. It's all lip stick on the pig. It is now perfectly clear. There are no moves to be had. Their defense collapsed fully healthy. I will chear for team but it ain't gonna matter. Oz is out from behind curtain.
That Defense was not fully healthy. But it would not have mattered anyway.

Your continued love for Tomlin borders on nauseating. Also your keep paying Tomlin, but don’t expect him to do his job is fundamentally wrong.

How much is it Harris, how much is it coaching, how much is it the line? I know I sound like a broken record and I’ve stopped popping off about it but just think what munch could do with this talent on the o-line and Harris! Munch likes throwing to the backs and would have made better use of Harris catching the ball out of the ball field. Tomlin got rid of anybody that might garner more press than him… Tomlin’s a total ego freak and the Rooney’s never call him on it! It’s gotten total ridiculous!!

James Conner had 1094 yards 4.6 average 8td and 47 catches this year. Which is pretty much the same as last year although he averaged 5.0 last year.

They should have kept him to begin with.
Conner had the injury bug here. So Tomlin and company moved on from him. Do you think he would have faired better than Harris begind this OL with this Offensive scheme?

He would have to play a different role, to many teams equate him with a guaranteed run on1st / 2nd downs. When the Najee package is in, defense has greater than 60% chance of knowing the play, regardless of the play called.

RB is the fasted and easiest to replace, so his pay must consumerate a way smaller role, not feature back.

This isn't Najee's fault. He CAN catch the ball, his rookie year he had 74 receptions!!! He's not gonna break off a 75 yard run, but last year he lead the league in "explosive runs" (runs defined by at least 15 yards). The play calling is what was predictable, it wasn't the player they put in there. It's like blaming Pickens for the series they like to run with Van Jefferson and Skowronek and wondering why they aren't passing the ball. If you take all your receiving threats off the field, chances are it's a run. I don't care how good of a blocker those WR's are.

Impossible to know. I do think Conner is a better back, but our line is below par blocking for sure. In fact it was a huge disappointment this season all around.

I would consider a mid guy that has about 30% of the offense go through him as a huge contributor to our failing offense.

He may be decent behind a true FB outside of a ZBS if he kept between the tackles but we don’t do that and he seems just like another square peg

Sadly Tomlin can make Every peg square

yeah, **** Najee

he gets 1.9 yards BEFORE contact. Which ranks him 77th in the league, and gets 2.1 AFTER contact -11th in the league.
**** the guy busting his *** when he's getting met at the handoff and still producing.

OP is an idiot and this thread is bullshit.

@bermudasteel - they talking about your boy in here.

OL plays a huge role. Another poster mentioned last season with the Giants Barkley average 3.9 yards a carry. This year he had 5.8 yards a carry.

I hear yaz Supe, what I’m saying is the $$$$$$$ and work-load have to change to the degree of play calling that’s not predictable. Tom Lin hasn’t been able to find that mixture through his controlling “thumbs on” approach.

Right price, right useage, right OL, right QB, right coaching & staff, you casn see where this is going.

I’m not saying get rid of him, I’m saying his current role needs to be changed…………
