I blame all the fantasy football dorks that invited girls into their leagues. The NFL never cared about women until fantasy football led to them following the NFL.

We're making good progress in society as this latest Rule seems to suggest. I see rays of hope like the blacks better represented at the Oscars this year. A few years ago people were complaining the Oscars were too white.

No. It's because Goodell completely mishandled the concussion hysteria and moms were not letting their kids play football. Plus they look at potentially growing the fanbase. I think that is stupid. The premise is that women had no interest in football but now because there's a female ref and a few females on the sidelines, now all of a sudden women are interested in football. It's nonsense.

Because the trend is that offensive coaches are being hired more often for Head Coach and most black coaches are on the offensive side. It used to be the opposite. Defensive coaches got hired more often. That is why Tomlin, a WR in college, wanted to coach defense, because it was a quicker path to HC. But now everybody wants the offensive guru.
Quotas are and always have been racist/sexist by definition. Any time you use race or sex as the reason to hire or not hire someone, that is racist/sexist. The best person should be hired, period, the end. Nothing else should matter. The NFL is as woke an organization as there gets.
This is like one of those classes you took back in college,, Feminism and the american revolution. It met so many requirements.. you had to take it.

There are a few here saying, "so what, what's the big deal", or "who cares?". They'll care when they lose that job themselves because the company had to meet a quota. smh.
What about a trans person?
A bit of a tongue in cheek response from me, however, how does this make the team or any business better? Checking a box, other than being qualified for a position, will never improve the product. Teams could hire an Asian, biological female, bisexual, that identifies as a panda, and I'd be good with that if she can coach how to block and tackle. This new proposal says MUST hire, based on a qualification that has nothing to do with performing the job.
Well when you are applying this to the highest court in the land what does a silly position coach matter?
Hiring someone based on skin color or gender, and not credentials, has never worked out well in anything.....

Tell my mother and grandmother that. They have always been passionate fans. Tell Jennifer Crouch that, a girl that played on the defensive line with me at Knoch through Junior High. She kicked some serious *** and knew the game as well as any of us at that point. I have no problem with women being into football. I have a n issue with being forced to hire based on gender or race but this is basically creating a new position the league is paying for. Seems almost more like a glorified internship and I can live with it even if it borders on being an actual quota.

It's only going to get worse. These ESG scores are causing businesses to lose their minds. The company I work for just had a town hall meeting and 1/2 of the hour long session focused on inclusivity, belonging, and reducing carbon footprint to increase the company's ESG score. They're even paying incentives to employee's to write stories of how they're making their communities more green to prove just how "woke" they are.
