New Rooney Rule Each Team MUST Hire

A bit of a tongue in cheek response from me, however, how does this make the team or any business better? Checking a box, other than being qualified for a position, will never improve the product. Teams could hire an Asian, biological female, bisexual, that identifies as a panda, and I'd be good with that if she can coach how to block and tackle. This new proposal says MUST hire, based on a qualification that has nothing to do with performing the job.
If you're looking to me for the answer, you're looking at the wrong person. I view the rule as a PR stunt and nothing more. As I said earlier, you're mandating that every team MUST do something that they were ALL already doing. Public Relations because Flores is suing them. Hell, Roger pretty much admitted that yesterday.

We're making good progress in society as this latest Rule seems to suggest. I see rays of hope like the blacks better represented at the Oscars this year. A few years ago people were complaining the Oscars were too white.

Do we have enough coaches with Alopecia yet?
We won't have progressed until there aren't any such rules.

Tell my mother and grandmother that. They have always been passionate fans. Tell Jennifer Crouch that, a girl that played on the defensive line with me at Knoch through Junior High. She kicked some serious *** and knew the game as well as any of us at that point. I have no problem with women being into football. I have a n issue with being forced to hire based on gender or race but this is basically creating a new position the league is paying for. Seems almost more like a glorified internship and I can live with it even if it borders on being an actual quota.
There have always been women football fans, what fantasy football did I was greatly expand the number of casual fans, many of whom are women. The rules changes that favor offense have catered to those fans. The cynic in me Believes that this move is also rooted in appealing to the female fan base, not necessarily about inclusion. Are there really that many women wanting to get into coaching at the NFL level and qualified to do so? Where are they currently?

Most are probably still young and just now aware it is even an option. I have no problem with it whatsoever as long as it is earned. I have no problem with internship like programs that create additional opportunities as long as they don't take away spots from those more qualified. Progress should neve come at the expense of others but be inclusive not exclusive in that I shouldn't not hire the non-minority in favor of a less ready minority but maybe I can create a new position for that person if they are worth the investment and training. It doesn't always have to be either or.

Let's just get it over with and force every team to hire a transvestite dwarf of mixed race who has at least one disability. That would make us all feel better about ourselves and make the world a better place.

When will the Rooney Rule apply to the people benefitting the most from the NFL? - the owners.

Screw the NFL race / gender isn't just about African Americans. Quotas for LGBT, Asians, Amercian Indinas, Latinos , Eskmos, insert your own group. They should all sue! See what happens then and their " Rooney rule ".

I actually didn't think it would ever be possible for you to make me think you could be any more obtuse. However, you've reached a new low.
Maybe read the rule. Or read what folks have written about it and then come back and comment. Actually, do one of those two things and then come back and tell me where African-Americans were identified as the sole beneficiaries of the rule. (A rule, which I think, is more PR than stunt than anything else).
The only one making it seem like the rule is about African-Americans is you. Seems to be a personal bias to me. smh

It the Rooney rule is for minorities then let them cover all of them. Not just one ethnic group and women 51% of the population. Mandatory interviews for all ethic's unless you have something against one of them. That what I'm saying. What about it, NFL? It seems like you have an issue with expanding the rule.

Diversity is just another way of pacifying the simpletons. My former employer hired a “Diversity Coordinator” who’s only qualifications were to be a minority. He literally sat at his desk and shopped or Facebooked. Hiring someone based on pigment, but only dark pigment, is just a way to keep minorities down. Don’t work hard because we’ll throw you a token now and again. I mean you don’t see the Jason Seahorn rule or Christian McCaffrey rule saying every team needs a white CB and RB.

The head scratcher to me…well, one of them…is why specifically an offensive assistant?
Because virtually no offensive coordinators are anything except white guys… for whatever reason minorities are usually pulled to the defensive coordinator spot but few pursue OC spots and are successful… they want to fix it quickly because the head coach trend is to use offensive coaches

It's a slap in the face to anyone that has worked and put time into their career. Think about it, do you want to be hired because you know your **** or know you are only there because of your color or gender.

I didn't want to start a new thread about this, but wow, what a wild offseason:

OK, I get it. You're an idiot.

You are talking to an idiot so don't expect anything that remotely makes a miniscule amount of sense.

For crying out loud some of you people..

Sure.....The problem arises though when you state this hire has to be a certain gender or race.
