I've come to the conclusion that clock management is a lost art for 95% of coaches. Since Tomlin's been hammered for it, I've watched other coaches more closely. Most are clueless.

Auburn was a close game, but each of those other teams were vastly outplayed.
Hopefully this will mark the end of simply ranking teams based on an assumption that their conference is awesome.

Props to OSU. I can't even hate them anymore with the Steelers-Ohio State connection. Also, you cannot deny how good of a coach Urban Meyer is, he is 36-3 at Ohio State and is about to play for a National Championship.

Yes, but in the old system, there's no way undefeated FSU would have been left out of the championship. They would have put Bama in against them over Oregon, no doubt.
Yes but there was debate as to whether Oregon should have been ranked over FSU because FSU was undefeated. The media was salivating at a Bama-FSU title game.

Congrats to all of the Big 10 fans. This is the year they have been waiting for. Bama will always be in the mix as long as Saban is running the show. Losing stinks but proud of the team. Was doubtful they could get this far before the season started, knowing the QB situation. Sims did great but threw 6 picks in the two biggest games of the year. Fortunately, he at least won one of them. Hat's off to Ohio State.

As a Buckeye fan I can agree, I have waited for this for a LONG time. I had all this garbage in my head that I thought I would say when or if it happened. But you know what? I don't have an ounce of animosity for Alabama or their fans any more. None. I can't give enough credit to Bama right now, they gave me plenty of gray hairs tonight. At one point I was thinking it would be the blow out some predicted it would be. Hats off to all you SEC fans, have a good one. GO STEELERS!
