I know you don't like him, but Winston has all the tools. His maturity is shaky, and that could cost him. Is he Ryan Leaf or Dan Marino? We won't know until he hits the field. What we do know is that he can throw every pass, can run a bit, and has a personality that his teammates gravitate to. Also, I think he's learned his lesson about ******* around with shady white girls, and will follow Ben's example of getting married to avoid future, how shall we say, mishaps...
Winston will have a pro career that equals Vince Young. They are the exact same player, IMO.

Both of them are Black and 6'5". That is where the similarities end.
Winston is a Pro Style QB, Young was a runner.
Winston has a proper release, Young was a side armer.
Winston is noted for diagnosing defenses, Young struggled to read even half the field.
Winston can throw all the passes with zip and accuracy, Young was scattershot as a passer.
Winston is about as fast and nifty as Big Ben, Young had RB caliber skills in the open field.
You couldn't name two players with more disparate playing style and abilities.

Winston was great last year. There was no other choice for the Heisman. FSU lost a ton of talent and that is why his numbers were down this year. They sent 2 RBs and WR Kelvin Benjamin to the NFL. Last year he had tons of weapons. This year he didn't have a run game until later in the year and he had 1 reliable WR Rashad Green and a TE. The OL was not as good either. FSU was just much easier to defend.
I don't see any comparison to Vince Young. Young was like Tebow. A running QB who had no idea how to read defenses and was not a good passer.
Winston is a very good passer. He has arm strength to make all the throws, he has touch, and accuracy as well. He moves well in the pocket. As a player, he kind of looks like some combo of Big Ben and Russel Wilson. He doesn't run as well as Wilson and he isn't quite as good a passer as Ben.
He is not afraid of big moments and he's been in tons of them. That is a big factor because lots of these QBs have it so easy that they can't handle pressure. See guys like Sanchez and Leinert. Winston played lots of tough games where he made big plays under pressure.
Then there's the off-field stuff. He is obviously immature and has a huge ego. He feels entitled to everything which is why he wa;kk in and takes crab legs. He didn't think he was doing anything wrong. He just thought, I'm Jameis, of course they want me to have these free of charge.
I'm not sure he will put in the work to be a great QB. A few years ago, i would not touch him, but now with the rookie cap, you are no longer married to a high draft pick QB. Before that cap, you could not afford to cut a bust QB and you certainly could not afford to sign a decent free agent. You were screwed for like 5 years if you were wrong. Now if a QB is a bust, it doesn't crush your cap.
I think the best thing Winston has going for him is that opinions will vary on Mariota. Mariota will be a hard worker but he struggles with accuracy and that scares me. QBs tend to not improve on that. Mariota has not had to make many NFL throws, meaning a throw into a tight window. His offense gives him lots of wide open throws.
My guess is NFL teams do their homework on whether WInston raped that girl. If they think he did or that some other bad details will come out then they probably pass on him. If they think it was a murky one time incident like Ben had, then he will be the first QB taken.
