Odds That Rudolph Gets Traded?

Hopefully he plays well but I have no issue with it being Mason either. I just don't want it to be Pickett. I want Trubisky or Mason to bear brunt of being Bens first replacement. Just like you just did with the comparison neither will ever live up to the comparisons with Ben. Better to be the guy who follows the guy who replaced Ben. Of course Ben looked somewhat better than Mason in the one game Mason played the whole year. Being his first start in almost, a year rust had to play some part in it as well. Lets face it Ben usually looks bad the first game of the season as he knocks off the rust. You think finding out the night before that you are getting your first regular season start since a good performance the last December is easy? Pickett is hopefully the future let Mason or Trubisky play this year. I want whomever plays best in preseason games between either of them.
I want the guy who plays the best to start. If that is Pickett then let it be Pickett. This team has enough pieces to be highly competitive. I could care less who follows Ben just win.

Despite how good we looked last night, it was just one prseseason game. I'd prefer Pickett at least starts the year watching because I'm still afraid this offense is going to be a train wreck and I don't want Pickett ruined.

I get that concern. I am pretty sure that is their initial plan to start Mitch anyways.

Yea, the online still has more to prove.

I'm still not convinced that the 2022 line is any better than last year.

Any of the 3 will be saying feet don't fail me now.
Its definitely better at run blocking. We will see pass blocking… the QBs really were not taking deep shots yesterday…

I was just comparing stats, not worrying about who can handle taking over Ben's legacy.

In fact, I have a feeling that Trubisky is going to make people forget all about the 2021 version of Ben. In a hurry.

Got some new faces to replace last year's all-new line meaning that this year's line is also almost all-new.
Remember last year's OL coach left in the middle of the season, the Steelers didn't stop him, and the line got slightly better afterward.
The assistant OL coach left after the season so the coaching is all-new too. Will that mean an improvement? We'll have to see.

I doubt anyone will forget about Ben for a long time and whoever starts is going to be starting in his shadow. Most are not smart enough to look at it that way.

Better play calling would help as well. The small sample size so far is somewhat encouraging but not enough to know yet.

Some team is going to get a qb injury and overplay us before the trade deadline…
So you’re sayin there’s a chance!

This begs the question if it is such a lock that he gets traded…conditional 6th or a 7th?

The Rudolph to Detroit talk is heating up on the interwebs.

Is this the rumor from Poni? If he heard it from a former NFL GM it almost certainly has to be from Doug Whaley. I'm not sure that guy got a single thing right when a guest on the show.
Probably. Kinda makes sense though.
I'm thinking someone's QB gets hurt and he goes someplace no one thought of.

I think Rudolph could start but it needs to be somewhere else. I think he has some tangibles. I don't think he would ever be a top 10 but maybe 20-15.

We're all going to miss the Ben from his youth and prime. The guy who was shrugging off would-be tacklers, escaping the pocket, and throwing accurate darts downfield on the run.

But I also think that most (many?) of us are smart enough to not miss last year's version of Ben: an aged, immobile shell of his former self, who consistently threw the ball behind the line of scrimmage and/or short of the first down.

C'mon...you didn't find it the slightest bit refreshing to see Trubisky get away from a potential sack that would have absolutely been an automatic loss of nine last season?

I'm pretty sure that final years Ben also limited the playbook. At least

"Plays hard" is code for they're trying but not good enough. You hear it about 4th liners in hockey all the time. When the argument in favor of Mason is he did "ok" against a three-win team that "plays hard" is not a good one in terms of him being a QB who can lead your team to the playoffs. He's a below average starter and a good backup. Is that enough talent to keep around so your first-round QB doesn't get any reps during the season?
That's the same as "we have a lot of depth". To me that's code for none of them are very good.

Absolutely and you are correct in Ben did limit the playbook in the last year or two. I'm still not fascinated with what Canada does on offense, but it will be more open now with a QB who can move.

Ben may have limited the playbook somewhat but Canada proved he cannot adapt to the players he has. He removed the hurry-up/no huddle offense completely. His play calling was atrocious. Ben brought us back to win 7 or 8 games in spite of Canada. Canada has a ton to prove. Ben is a first ballot HOFer and the greatest QB to wear the black and gold even when he wasn't as mobile last year. He still did scramble and pick up a couple first downs on his legs.

All time great and they didn't trust him enough to do some of his things, but there wasn't a whole lot left in his play that earned him that Hall of Fame resume. Also, I am not a fan of Canada and it's going to take elite level talent to make his offense look good. He's not one of those innovative offensive minds who will get the best out of his personnel.

lol

Dude, Ben picked up exactly 6 first downs with his legs in his last 3 seasons (after 138 in his first 15 years). The guy ran for a grand total of 26 yards in his last 33 games, and 5 yards last year. Five!

Give the nonsense a break.
