Trump wins the media war, battle by battle

There is a reason why the mainstream news media and the Democratic Party are in an uproar: They’ve been left out of the political equation by a player who understands the game better than they do.

And that player is President Trump, who has conducted a masterful war against his media foes over the last 72 hours, launching a series of strategic tweets that deemed the hostile press not only “fake” but “fraudulent.”

The president himself declared that he was the victor to his 31 million Twitter followers, adding one more telling tweet that summarizes his very effective skill set: “My use of social media is not Presidential — it’s MODERN DAY PRESIDENTIAL,” Mr. Trump advised.

“Trump is Trump. He does what he does, which is what he did during the campaign and before. And now, in the White House, he has enlisted his media adversaries, wittingly or not, in a campaign against ‘fake news’ that resonates with his core supporters,” writes Byron York, a columnist for the Washington Examiner, who says that those who engage in “sloppy fights” with Mr. Trump often emerge diminished in the aftermath.

I give Trump some credit.

If I was married to Melania, I'd have little to no desire to wage an internet war with the MSM. I'd be neck deep in that when I wasn't working. That he has the energy and stamina to do both... well, ****, Hillary was needing trouble getting up some ******* steps.

It doesn't seem like President Trump's feud with the media is going to end anytime soon.

On Sunday, the president tweeted a video of himself wrestling and punching a man with the CNN logo superimposed over his head.

The video, which is an edited clip from Trump’s 2007 appearance at WWE's WrestleMania 23, has been criticized by some for allegedly inciting violence against the media.

On "Fox & Friends" this morning, Rachel Campos-Duffy said the media is intent on attacking Trump, and he's simply fighting fire with fire.

I believe that President Trump's twitter rants are legendarily awful. It's unfortunate that he relies upon hyperbole to get his message out. He's very much a blowhard.

At the same time, I applaud him for speaking his mind.

I'm mixed. At times Trump is brilliant. Other times, he should have said nothing.

The problem here is the media in is not offering fair coverage, or anything close to it.

The best solution?

Trump should hire multiple press men. Ask the general press to summit their questions in advance, but ask for their sources and proof. And don't answer any hypothetical questions.
