There's a big difference between having money to buy the best lawyers to get you out of a jam and having law enforcement sweep crimes under the rug. Ask OJ about that.

Even if a rich white guy has the connections to have a charge reduced, it's still a charge on the record and it does follow them. The promise program was handing out free passes.
