Penguins 23-24

Happy for ERod, Paul Maurice and Bobrovsky is a goalie who is easy to root for.

I thought the Oilers were gonna take it. Draisaitl looked hurt today
Yes….Paul Maurice on ice interview after the whistle brought a tear to my eye. All for his family….his parents obviously elderly….telling his dad that the Maurice name will be engraved for ever more, alongside his father’s hero’s, Geordie Howe ,Jean Beliveau,Rocket Richard, etc. Then he broke down. A great moment.

Then mentioned the one thing that would compete his hockey journey is if the Winnipeg team could hoist the Cup.

That was a great moment.

I secretly pull for the Jets when the Pens bomb out. They are the most jinxed team.

I think he was the whole series. It was just a bridge too far for the Oilers. Hats off to them for winning 3 in a row to even force a game 7. I thought it was over after game 3. Teams with the most depth have the advantage in the Final.

Congrats to the Florida Panthers and their fans....well played

When one game will decide a championship int he NHL...Always bet the team with the best goalie.

I can get on board with that statement in all sports...
But hockey is one sport that one HOT goalie can win any game, against any team...and if you combine that HOT goalie with a guy like Florida's "Bob"....you got a great chance of winning one game, anytime, anywhere..

Thats why its a damn shame that Jarry didn't pan out...

Hockey is one sport where you can be the better team and still lose. All it takes is puck luck.

What do you guys think about this year's draft class? Personnally, Brunicke is exactly what the Pens needed IMO. A big Defensemen who has great hands. I don't think it takes long for him to be in the rotation. Howe can be a bottom 6 winger in a few years...probably just trade bait if we're being real. Couldn't find much on Pietila but a few YouTube clips of which left me uninspired, even less on Joona. Mac Swanson is listed as 5'8" 167, and what tape that is out there he plays slooooowww. Finn Harding's tape from when he was 15 years old sooooo...

Hayes AND a 2nd round pick was a nice pickup as well, Hextal gave away the 2025 2nd round pick in a horrendous trade for Hoffman and Pitlick so it's nice to get it back.

BTW, Guentzal signed with Tampa Bay, if you held out hope for his return.

Hayes was a terrible pickup. The 2nd rounder was nice, probably a sweetener to take Hayes off their hands.

Yeah, dude got PAID. 7 years, $63 million. Hanging on to Malkin and Letang is not helping this franchise.
I don't think he can carry or lead a franchise. God bless him, and I wish we could have kept him, but don't see him being "THE" leader of any team. This was inevitable, IMO

eh, someone had to fill the role of useless 4th line C with Jeff Carter retiring.

I have even lower expectations for the Pens this year. Mrs. Fan and I might drive out to SLC to see them though.

How do they do when you see them in person? I'm 0-5..

1-0 here. And the player who disgusts me the most (Petterson) scored the OT winning goal. People around me listening to me ***** about him for three periods let me know it too. Hahaha

Awesome. A little crow is good for the soul. I'm a Petterson fan, so I would have given you all crap for sure.
