Penguins Offseason, free agency, moves around the league, all in one thread!

The money for Dooms assures that Sheary will not get paid by us. The D was and should have been the focus this offseason. Now it's time to call up some more SWB Pens talent to play with Crosby.

IF Sheary gets much more than $3M in arbitration, just walk away from it. He has good offensive skill on Sid's line but he's small and he can't play a lick of defense.

Pens' Dumoulin re-broke hand multiple times in playoffs

Brian Dumoulin had a breakout playoff campaign last season as he led all Pittsburgh Penguins skaters in ice time.

Dumoulin revealed after he signed his contract that he broke and subsequently re-broke his hand multiple times as the Penguins repeated as Stanley Cup champions

The 25-year-old managed to play in all 25 postseason contests despite breaking his right hand in Game 5 of his team's first round series against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

As he played through the injury, he re-broke his hand multiple times over the next month.

“It would get better for a little bit. I’d do a cross-check then it would break again. It was a process.”

The problem for anyone who signs Sheary is that they aren't also getting Crosby. Without Crosby, Sheary is a 3rd line grinder that will get you 15-25 points in a season.

Per @FriedgeHNIC, the Penguins and Conor Sheary have reached a three-year, $9 million deal.

Glad they locked up Sheary! Now keeping that eye of the tiger next season should be the real challenge. A chance to be put in a very small group of 3 or more in a row cup winners. A real dynasty.

could be a sign and trade? Either way, glad they locked Sheary up on a new deal. I can live with $3M/year. He showed up when they needed speed and a spark.

Good deal.

I like Sheary. He can turn it up when needed.
Sid and the kids are around for one more year

yep - very reasonable deal

Leaves about $3 million for a third-line center, with Archibald & Pouliot up for trade bait maybe

I am very surprised Sheary resigned. I'm even more surprised at the price he resigned at. I would have rather used that money on a 3rd line center, but I can't be greedy.

You never know who they could trade for. I hope they go all in for that 3rd cup in a row. It will be beyond hard. They will cement themselves with the greatest ever.
