Penguins *******!

Damned fine effort again last night. Yeah, it's Toronto. But Toronto shouldn't be as bad as they've looked, they've got some talent......not sure what ails them.

Calling it right now....barring unforeseen circumstances Hornqvist scores 25 minimum this year. 10 for 10 in his last 10. James who?

Team depth is much improved and evident.

PK needs serious work.

The passing and puck control are as good as any I've seen.

60 full minutes of hockey. I hope this is a trend that continues.

I'm happy to see our 4th line score.

PP looks good

Maybe they should leave Geno on RW

Game against the Stars tonight

The Pittsburgh Penguins return to Consol Energy Center to begin a three-game homestand on Thursday night as they take on the Dallas Stars. Last week, the Black and Gold got off to a 2-0-0 start after defeating Anaheim 6-4 and Toronto 5-2.

Meanwhile, the Boys from the Lone Star State are off to a 1-1-1 start, having dropped their first two games: to Chicago 3-2 in a shootout and then 4-1 to Nashville. Dallas claimed their first victory on Tuesday over the Blue Jackets 4-2 in Columbus.

I'll be too busy watching the Pitt game tonight. Pens should get the W with no problem.

Damn, poor Dupuis is snake bit. Hope it's not serious.

Now there's the Penguins I remember

Malkin gives up the turnover, ******* around at the point with 3 min left & game in hand ........2-2

Fleury overplays eveyrthing and gives up the game loser with 3 sec to go

How bout them Pens

Geno needs to go. I hope that Rutherford is on the phone today with all the Western Conference teams.

Geno isnt getting traded and frankly that is stupid idea anyhow. You couldnt get equal value and you couldnt fit equal value under the cap. They played fine till the duper injury, which would take most players minds for any team out of the game. let's not make knee jerk reactions over one half of a period of bad hockey.

Well i for one expected them to lose games, and **** they may lose some more and not play 100 % perfect all the time and every second of every game. Thats just me tough, it is one ******* loss

Yeah, Shrek deserves some blame for the turnover. He's known for that. But Crosby was the one in the penalty box when the game winner was scored. Not to worry. We won't win every game.

I know? Lose one game and lets trade Fleury and Malkin. WTF? I'm sure were gonna lose about 20 more this year, so better get over it.

And, don't you guys think the loss could have alot to do with Dupuis injury?

When it comes to colossal brain farts MAF takes the gold. I remember watching him vs the wild a few years ago and a two goals were made from center ice. I think the wild were just trying to get the puck in our zone and twice they snuck thru his legs. It was such a WTF just happened moment the first time and then for it to happen again was just inexcusable. Last night reminded me of that. There's 3 second left and you don't just hug the pipe on that side of the net? I mean there wasn't time to pass and shoot so you knew they were going to try to sneak it past him and they did...

I know all about colossal brain farts for MAF. I was at the playoff game in Columbus last year. The Pens went up 3-0 in the first. Columbus scored 1 in the first, 1 in the second, then with like 2.7 seconds left, MAF went behind his net and they scored. They proceeded to score quickly in OT. Rough night. Seeing it first hand was hard to swallow. I think it was game 4.

Fleury did resemble a beached and oxygen deprived carp a few times.

Thing is this isn't new. The mental lapses or the bitching about them. And the trade talk also is a carry over from last year. Malkin can be a real doofus and imo is more often than not. Fleury is a mental weakling and I don't want the Pens to have to count on him in the PO's.

The Dupuis injury could just as easily be seen as something that could have provided a spark instead of a let down so I'm not buying that excuse. Hope he's okay because this isn't the same team w/o him.

The Pens went into full on turtle mode. Dallas was completely robbed of the original tying goal anyway, and that was all on Gino, though somehow the refs screwed it up.

Fleury was absolutley great in the playoffs as a whole last year. We had problems scoring. Crosby is kind of a ***** in the playoffs. Malkin is a great player and calling for him to be traded is beyond ridiculous, especially after 1 loss. I don't buy into things carrying over from past seasons because its a new system and nobody really knows what to expect. Malkin miss almost ALL of camp! Give him a break!

If the Dupuis injury wouldve been dirty, then I can see it as a spark. But being the accident it was, I can see how the team would be sluggish worrying about their pal Pascal.

I bet Rutherford is shopping Geno around , as we speak. This team is no longer being built to win scoring titles and trophies, it is about the playoffs.......where Geno disappears. I can see getting great value for him. We need more size, and less finesse, especially in the forward positions.. A new backup goalie would be nice, as well.

Highlights from last nights game for anyone who missed it.

I'd say that Crosby disappears in the playoffs more than Geno.

I'd have to agree with you there, but for the most part, they both seem to be scarce in the playoffs. Let's face it, during the playoffs, usually the team with the best defense most toughness and best goalie are the ones that win. We are lacking in in all 3 departments.

Malkin can be a great player....when he decides to. But he disappears for long stretches far too often. I remember MAF's performance last year differently but that could be my memory.

Islanders come out to play - Halak gonna stonewall us?

0-1
