Type again! What the hell the going to figure this goalie out?
Just as I type that....SCORE!
Any scoop on Malkin? Do you think he might have hurt his back? He took a pretty wicked hit.
This team is very exciting on pretty much every level. And they give up 1 goal again. I'm really digging this team. I do believe Crosby didn't have a single shot on goal all night. I didn't get to see it on tv, just highlights. So Boston either was all over him or he was super unselfish this evening. Just as a captain should be.
Whatever the case is, I love seeing them play a solid sound game. The defense was the only issue I figured would be their achilles heel this year, that thus far isn't even a question at this point. Nice W. Stay the course!
I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I am worried about Malkin coming back. When you watch this team right now, everyone has bought in to what they are trying to do. They have a system in place and it is working like a well oiled machine right now. Malkin has this thing where he kinda freelances a lot outside the system and it has the potential to **** things up. The Pens need everyone on board, pulling in the same direction, no passengers.Great to get Tanev back. Man that dude can play. Freddy Gaudreau looks like he might be able to bring something to the table with this team. I really like the chemistry but if they can get back Malkin, Kap, and Blue back to where they were a month ago without screwing up that mojo watch out.
I'd tend to agree with you Sarge, we've seen it happen before. I can't remember if it was the year before last or maybe 3 years ago when the injury bug hit and the minor league players were doing great. The vets came back and their collective play went to hell. I think Letang might also feed off Malkin's freelancing too. But that being said, it looked like he really tightened up his game for that span just before he got hurt. He was pitching in on defense, cut way down on the turnovers and was throwing the puck on net rather than the old pass, pass, pass, turnover routine. If he comes back I hope we get that version of Geno.I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I am worried about Malkin coming back. I really liked the game last night. They were suffocating most of the night on defense, I saw plenty of physicality, the goaltending is fantastic and everyone is chipping in on the scoring. They are 11-2-1 in their last 14, and they are taking down the big boys, not just the scrubs. This is fun to watch right now.
