Pens Hockey 2021?

Well as much as I was pissed at that 3rd period the other night, I am impressed at what they did today. They had a lot of chances to score 2 or 3 more goals if that newbie goalie wasn't playing good. Playing a team like Boston tough like that after they played yesterday.....They get Malkin and Tanev back, lets get it on.

Score was Crosby line 1 and "perfection" 0.....

In my opinion, the Pens helped that newbie goalie out quite a bit. Guentzel especially. He was in 2 on 1 twice with Crosby and instead of talking the better shot, went for the low percentage "tribute" pass. Happened 2 or 3 other times where a shot, even if you don't score, is the better option. This game shouldn't have been 1-0, but 1-0 is more than enough when the Pens are all pulling in the same direction like they were today. It's nitpicking, I get it. That said, this team has a pass first mentality that holds them back at times. I feel confident saying that if Jake shoots and scores rather than passing to Crosby, Sid probably wouldn't be real upset. JMHO.

I was on the road yesterday. Sorry I missed it. I see there was only one penalty. Was it a relatively clean game or did the refs just let them play?

I would say both. There were a couple times I thought a penalty COULD have been called, but it wasn't called. The one they did call, they had to. It was such an obvious high stick. Gotta admit though, I was surprised they actually called it. By and large it was a pretty clean game. Fast paced, very little space, nerve wracking but a blast to watch. That was a big win. Playoff preview right there.

I hope they can just shoot the damn thing when they have a good opportunity. It doesn't matter who score. I know they're trying not to be selfish. I'm thankful we don't have a bunch of puck hogs, but **** man..Take The Damn Shot! The other guy can look for the rebound. At least take the shot half the time, so they know it's not always going to be a pass.

Either way they gave up zero goals. You'll win 100% of those games.

Thanks Sarge. Great summary. Really wished I was able to watch it. Must have been one of the best games of they year. I'll be ready for the game tomorrow!

I read where Mike Lange will be back in the booth tonight! Looking forward to hearing him call the game. The article states he has been with the Penguins for 46 seasons. That's pretty damn amazing.

Dang! I had no idea!

He shoots, he scores! Slap me silly grandma ;)

I didn't see many quality chances in that first period. Plenty of passing though. Hoping they get more shots on goal and can park someone near the goal to pitch in a rebound.

We are not really controlling the puck this period either. So far at least.

Yep, I'd have to give the advantage to the Bs at this point. They've had better quality shots in my opinion.

Just a matter of time before they scored.

Upping the physicality usually doesn't work out well for the good guys.

Welp. That should end that.
