Picking up Rice is a no brainer

The playoffs are when you want to start knocking ******* out. He could help us start the conversation.

It took James Harrison four weeks to get back into football shape. We only need Harris to carry the load for one.

Not only do we not need Rice, chances are he wouldn't do much for us. He doesn't know our system or our linemen's tendencies. He has no comfort level with Ben in the passing game. People think you can just plug guys in like appliances and expect them to work. Football doesn't work that way.

Since nobody here (that we know of) knows what goes on in practice, how do you know what Harris is capable of.
Archer is too small for the behemoths on the Rats D Line and he'll get splattered like a bug on Thuggs' face guard.
I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Johnson and Harris in the backfield.
Check Bells stats from the last meet with the Rats, weren't a lot of yards on the ground. Nobody successfully runs against the Rats. Ben threw to every pair of hands available.

Some names being bandied around....if we sign anyone at all:

Green-Ellis
Michael Bush
Andre Brown
Stephens-Howling
Felix Jones

Who knows if any of these guys could come in and play, I'll take my chances with Harris and Super Fly Archer

Your posting in this thread makes me think you know absolutely zero about the Steeler organization or the Rooney family. Seriously.
After they are done handing the Lombardi to Seattle or New England they can give the good guy award to Art I I ND Dan. Cant wait.

Harris will be fine. Not at all concerned for this Saturday.

Besides, Bell will play.

I can't believe that anyone would believe that he could make an impact, having not played all year.

No chance in hell. I'd stick with Harris and bring in a third string guy in case of an emergency. No one is going to expect anything from Harris. If they start him, I'll bet he puts up at least 75 yards on the ground against the Rats.

For an experienced pro to go into a game like this isn't what you think it is. The run assignments are nothing at all. Pass pro is pass pro. First threat. Id say when to release into the pass game is the biggest problem. That is a feel. If you are seriously thinking about going into that game with those two running backs of which, sorry, one of them is not an NFL running back in any way shape or form ,you might as well do this. Play the entire entire game like you are down 17 and put Johnson or Miller in there to block and throw the ball 45-50 times. If I was the Ravens, I wouldn't even honor play action. I'd blow right by them to Ben.

Just got a call from Rooney. I guess I'm starting RB this Saturday. Man am I jacked!

Key post in thee thread. Signing him does nothing at this point. We would be better with icky woods or Barry Foster than rice with no beans

LOL! Sask... thank you for such a great laugh!

If the Steelers were down to having ONLY Archer left at RB and they were in the two week break ready to go into the Super Bowl... Ray Rice would STILL be be on their DO NOT CALL list. Never. EVER. Happen.

Josh Harris has been practicing with this team all year. Will Johnson has much more to offer than we have seen. Good grief... we would see LaDarius Perkins in the backfield before Rice would receive a phone call.

.

Welp, I'm glad you guys are confident in the RBs we have for this game. Seeing that they both combined have a total of 56 yards for their careers. One has a 1.8 yards per attempt rush and the other can't pick up a blitz, should be fun to watch. That being said I hope like hell we bring someone in if Bell can't go.

FO must like what they see in Harris, as they never signed a RB after the Blount exit.

And this is my point. I'm really not for Rice per say. I'm really for anyone not named Josh Harris or Dri Archer. For God's sake there was a 100+ page thread on why this guy is not an NFL running back. And he is not. Maybe Harris could do something, but putting your eggs in that basket with no insurance policy. Really? If they can bring in someone better suited or whatever. OK. But they won a home playoff spot and that is worth MILLIONS. Bringing in a back at league minimum for the rest of the playoffs kinda makes sense to me.

You failed to mention Duce "in sweats" Staley. I'm terribly disappointed.

Please Lord oh please let Bell walk into the locker room tomorrow morning and tell coach that he is 100% and ready to smash the gayvens.

So why did you continuously mention Rice by name?? Why not say "hey, we need to bring in another rb to solidify the position"?
