McCutchen batting .083. Yikes! 2 hits all year.
Typical Cutch start to the season..

Slightly off topic but it is frustrating as all get out that the area of NC that I live is is claimed by 4 MLB teams as a home market.
Which means any time the Pirates play the Reds, Orioles, Senators or Braves, the game is blacked out on my MLB online subscription.
Furthermore only the Braves are available on Directv regional sports network, so I am SOL whenever we play the Reds, or Balt/Wash.
They're asking too much of their relief pitching.
The starters have not been very efficient at all, struggling to pitch a full six innings in basically every game thus far.
I was not a big fan cole. He just never seemed to fully put it together. You could count on him to go out there throw 7 innings and give up 3-4 runs. He was not clutch in the playoffs when needed. It is way too early to make predictions and i feel they are playing way over their head right now. Hopefully they can keep the momentum going and the rest of the pitchers will catch up
Stuff about Gerrit Cole this year WTF.....

Gerrit Cole joins Nolan Ryan as the only pitchers in recorded major league history to strike out 11 or more in each of his first three starts of a season. Ryan struck out 12, 11 and 14 in his first three starts of 1973 for the Angels.
Stats By STATS @StatsBySTATS
Gerrit Cole has a career-high 14 strikeouts tonight, giving him 36 strikeouts in his first three games with the @astros.
That's the most by any player in the live-ball era in his first 3 starts with a new team, surpassing Randy Johnson (34 with the Diamondbacks in 1999).
Chris Peixoto @cp_astros
Gerrit Cole struck out 14 batters on 93 pitches. No pitcher in MLB history had ever recorded that many strikeouts in a game by throwing 93 pitches or less.
