Pirates 2018

I think Polanco has about another week and a half to get his **** straight or Meadows takes his job.

Not sure why Polanco is starting at this point. They started Polanco the last 2 days when he has been struggling big time lately. At the very least Polanco should have been given a few days off to get his head right.

I hope Vasquez(rivero) doesn't need a Tommy John

Polanco has been a huge disappointment. The starting outfield should be Dickerson in LF, Marte in CF and Meadows in RF, at least for the time being. .

Pirates let the series slip away this weekend. The slide continues and it looks like they are going to be in more trouble with the Cubs up next. Ugh.

They've lost three series in a row.

Even with Polanco's struggles, they have not had issues scoring runs.

The pitching is what's hurting them.

Taillon has been disappointing as well. He had a decent start yesterday, but decent has been the best he's had to offer mixed with a bunch of crap.

He's way too talented to be so inconsistent. The Pirates may have another Gerrit Cole on their hands and not in a good way.

Bush league slide at the plate by Rizzo. We’ll see if he ends up wearing one tomorrow.

Since Brault went public after their win on May 17th with the statement " we are here to stay"...

The battlin Bucs are a dismal 2-8.

Like my Pops used to tell me...
Never pass up an opportunity to just shut the **** up!

Glad to see Hurdle defend his player...

But Rizzo should of got one right in the middle of his back yesterday when he came to bat in the 9th.

They want to play "old school" baseball...then the Pirates should of obliged.

I haven't seen the play, but that's all the talk shows are griping about. Two hits, shut out and they let the Cubs ***** slap them and ask for seconds. If it was dirty, then throw at Rizzo's knees or here's an idea, score some runs! Half of the team said it was a good baseball play, but Hurdle and Diaz said different. Where's the balls?

I'm not into throwing at guys, but a pitch to the thigh isn't going to harm a guy. The Pirates always let teams walk all over them.

Old school guys might say it’s not dirty. The problem is it is against the rule that protects catchers. Doesn’t matter if you agree with the rule.

Why did Hurdle pull Crick and insert Vasquez to face Right handed batters in the 9th? Vasquez's been struggling and has no velocity anymore, has lost 3-4 MPH off his fastball from last season. Hurdle has no instincts/feel for the game.

Vasquez is singlehandedly wrecking their season.

Vasquez is singlehandedly wrecking their season.

Yep, and a big reason is he's being overused, at least let Crick start the 9th, he had a 3 run lead and was money in the 8th, plus he would face righty batters in the 9th. And Vasquez had already pitched 3 straight games. No instincts by Hurdle.

The pitching needs to get it together, especially the bullpen. It's not like the starters are getting rocked. The offense is producing so if they can figure it out the winning should return.

Whelp...the Buccos good start proved to be a mirage yet again. In the immortal words of Herm Edwards, "They are who we thought they were."

"They are who we thought they were." that was Dennis Green. But I agree with the the thought.

Hurdle needs to go .... replace him with one of the coaches or one of the minor league managers - can't get any worse.

The focus is pretty much shifting to whom they're going to move at the deadline.

Dickerson, Cervelli and Nova are all players that contending teams will have interest in.

I think the plan this year was to sell off from the beginning. The decent start made them have a cup of coffee and talk about it maybe but that's it.
