Playoffs *******!

Offense can beat anyone they have the pedigree obviously with their above the line play.

Secondary can lose to anyone they have the pedigree obviously with their below the line play.

**** "tanking" the game...kick the bungles ***** and then get ready to **** up whoever comes to visit in the Wild Card round...personally I hope it is the Texans since that would mean both the rats and chargers ******* lost.....

^^^^this^^^^ **** that tanking ****. Have a winning attitude, tanking is for losers.

if we get the 6 seed we get Cincy again- with "can't hit a barn door Dalton", and with a one-armed AJ Green knowing the red headed stepchild is trying to get him killed with his spray and pray passes.................I'll take my chances there - even with 'one-hit-away-from-a-severed spine SD with Phillip and Antonio Gates.....they could gut our pass defense and you know it....I don't want a shoot-out.

We cannot be the 6th seed, we are guranteed no worse than 5 due to tie-breakers:

OK - it's the 3rd spot if we get the win and 5th if we lose

4th and 5th play - that's the Colts, right?

3rd and we get SD - most likely

those would be bad matchups for our secondary - that was my point

We'll need to score 30/game....our secondary is among the worst in the league. And a healthy Ike and Troy will not help...they've lost a step, or two, or three on occasion.

I say play for the 3 seed and who cares who they play. This team, for whatever reason, plays better against better competition. I still don't think they'll get out of round two, but I also didn't think they were even getting in the playoffs after the Saint game. So all this is just gravy for me. I'll just sit back and see what happens.

Win Sunday, take the division...beat whoever faces them the next week, THEN worry about the second round....

You happily take the 3 seed. It At least gives them a chance of hosting the AFCC game.

It's easy math, W+I+N = SB

Why is it that when our team misses a WR by a few yards that would have sealed a game, it's always "well, it doesn't matter, we still lost, and blah blah blah" but when we pull of a win, it's perfectly ******* fine for you sopping cunts to come running out with the ifs and ******* buts? I wonder why the **** that is?

Joe

Don't recall what the **** you're talking about as far as Ben missing any wide receivers to cinch a game, and saying it didn't matter. Just make up any **** you feel like.

And happy holidays to you too. Sopping cunts. Classy.

You can have 700 yards of passing if you don't put it in the end zone who gives a ****. We know this all to well. The Chiefs came in the game with the No. 1 red zone offense and settled for FG's. I will take that any day.

I'll take it too. But I do give a ****, because better quarterbacks are going to put it in the end zone against the Steelers. Frequently.

We played exactly two premier QBs this season: Luck and Brees. They accounted for 8 TDs and 2 picks (both by Luck).

People blame the secondary, but I think our pass rush is the bigger problem. We've won 2 Superbowls in this era with mediocre corners and a great pass rush. Otherwise we're going to have to outrun every team on the scoreboard. But with this talent, and Ben on fire, it's possible.

The good news is that the defensive line is showing some signs of life, especially Heyward. I'd like to see LeBeau use more corner blitzes to create some pressure.

There is a lot of truth in your words, but have you noticed our pass rush has gotten better? This pass rush isn't the same as beginning or middle of season rush. Youngins are comming on strong, all over the team!!! Just catch the fire and roll with it.

I'd like someone to point out who these "scary" QBs are in the AFC that have made the playoffs. Luck? Dalton? Rivers? Manning? Brady? Flacco? Which one is going to light up the secondary "if" the pass rush can get to them? Which one doesn't have flaws?

I mean ****, as far as our secondary goes, they are what we have. It's not like we can go out and trade for Revis for the playoffs. So, why worry about what MIGHT happen? Let 'em play the damn game and enjoy the fact that our team is back in the playoffs.

You can't be serious. You don't fear what Brady or Manning might do against this defense? Really? Luck's already dropped 400 yards on them this year. Dalton and Flacco both have had games against the Steelers with triple-digit quarterback ratings earlier this season. Rivers is about the least of my worries, and he's still capable of putting up big numbers.

I think Pittsburgh's offense is good enough to win a first-round matchup with the Colts, Chargers, or Ravens. I don't think they'll be able to keep up with Denver or New England, because they're going to need 30+ points to win those games, and the Broncos and Patriots both have pretty good defenses. I'm pleasantly surprised that the Steelers made the playoffs, but I'm not expecting them to compete for a Super Bowl because of their weak defense, which is what I've been saying all along. I'd love to be wrong about it, but I won't be.

They had a great pass rush against the Colts and still got burned.

You do not need a great secondary if you have a good pass rush, but the secondary cannot be a complete liability like it is currently. They completely blow too many coverage and miss too many tackles. They have been somewhat better recently, but have little confidence in them holding up against a Phillips Rivers, Peyton Manning or Tom Brady.

The problem is that the secondary leaves the front 7 no margin for error, as if they're less than dominant, this defense will not stop anyone. Pass defense is a team concept where sometimes the DBs need to force the QB to hold the ball for that extra second or two to allow the rush to get there.

Though they had a great pass rush in the recent Super Bowl years, they also had guys like Polamalu and Taylor in their primes who could consistently matchup athletically. The Steelers do not get as many coverage-induced sacks as they once did either.

Nope, I respect what Brady and Manning are capable of possibly doing to this defense. That's if Brady gets time and if Manning's arm isn't as shot as it looked last Monday. Fear the possibility that they might do it? No. Respect it? Yes.
I mean, if they're supposed to lay down and just give up because of the names on the QBs jerseys, they might as well turn down the invitation to the playoffs. Besides, when Luck threw for 400 and Dalton had a game against the Steelers, what were the final scores? As far as Flacco, he's beat us, we've beat him. Flacco is the least "scary" out of all the QBs possibly in the playoffs that doesn't play for the Chiefs or Texans.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if this team made it to the lʍoq ɹǝdnS too, but I don't think they should be scared of any QB on the list of possible playoff adversaries. Respect them, yes. Fear them, no.

I do not think any of the qbs are going to be a problem for the steelers. Manning did not look like he has anything left in the tank. The rest of his team looks uninspired and looks like they are ready for vacation to start. The only team that looks to have an advantage is the cheatriots and I expect them to have found another way to cheat. The steelers need to find a way to jam the signals on the field so the radio gear is disabled. They should also see if they can search the place for means of tapping into the signals of the opposition.

I would make a big deal about it all through the pre game so the cheats can be busy denying it and loose their focus. I think it would also be nice to change some of the signals to phrases like belicheat sucks dick and brady is a pole smoker just to continue to irritate them while they are listening.

The key to beating the Patriots is stopping their running game first.

Manning looks like a shell of his former self, and if you punch Brady in the mouth a few times in the first quarter, that ****** is done for the game. The only question is, can we get to him and do it if we play them, cause when he isn't rattled, he's a damn good qb.

Joe

The defense's greatest flaw is covering the deep pass. Brady has been the most inaccurate deep ball passer all season long, and Manning's long passes have mostly been catch and runs especially in the second half, when his passer rating has dipped under 90. now we know from the Tebow experience a few years back that a qb just needs to hit on a handful of key passes, or get lucky on a few, to put up enough to win most games, but NE has been playing the same soft "give up yards and gamble to keep them out of the end zone" D we are all year long, and Denver is clearly built to play D with the lead. Either of those games will have to be won by the O, but both are winnable...

Easiest way to rattle Brady would be to have James Harrison go over to him prior to the game and ask for his autograph. After Brady signs it he could say thanks I really appreciate this cause I got a bonus coming that will cover all the fines and I know you will not be able to write after the game.

Better yet, "Thanks, can you date it too... I really want one from the last NFL game we both ever play....."
