Pom Pom thread

The concussion occurred the last play he was in the scamper to the 4

We should have won this game. We had the talent to win this game. Tomlin/Haley and the horrible officiating lost it. Why was Sherman allowed illegal contact and pass interference on pretty much every ******* play?

Haley?

lol ok

more like secondary and Tomlin and throw Colbert in for the perfect trifecta

Soooooo bring in your backup QB cold off the bench on the biggest play of the game instead of taking the three? And you're going to tell me you wouldn't be bitching the other way if we weren't successful. Be honest. You going to say good call Tomlin and not he's a dumb **** you kick and play defense.

you mean the same QB cold off the bench that tried to hit his eligible lineman in a not-so-trick play? He was good enough then to be put in.

I only mention Haley because I don't know if he had a hand in that horrible fake field goal call.

Yes and maybe if he throws a decent pass there the coaches let him come in and attempt a pass to win the game

Yes his tackle eligible who was a starting WR

So you don't want him on the field for a few yards out, but think he can drive the team into field goal range with no time outs if the offense even got the ball back? Got it.

Yes, I trust Landry Jones there way more than I trust our defense to make a stop. And that's not in hindsight - I said it in the game thread as it was unfolding.

And honestly, it seems like MT trusts Landry more than the defense too since he thought it was a good idea to trot him out there with the FG unit to try to convert a 4th down instead of just, ya know, leaving the actual offense out there with Ben, AB, DW, Bryant, etc etc

Game was over before Landry hit the field..................

Yeah but the argument is that, had we gone for it on that 4th down instead of kicking the FG down 5, it would have been Landry running the play instead of Ben since Ben got hit in the head or whatever

Yea, Tomlin was terrible out there throwing 4 interceptions. What was he thinking?????

Seriously though, Blake has shown he lacks the technique to play consistent football and is a liability on the field. He trips over his feet each and every game, due to poor footwork and even poorer body positioning. It looks like he's on rollerskates as comic relief in a cartoon. If we replace him with Golson or Boinkin, we may have a shot to improve on defense. Otherwise, this is the definition of insanity. Keep putting Blake out there and expecting different results.

The gameplan was working when we stayed to short quick decisions, but changing to longer plays in the second half killed what was working so well for us.
So you suck Tomlins dick in your first sentence then blame him in the next paragraph .

Really?

It's not a matter of wanting him on the field to drive because it's no choice in the matter Ben was concussed

That's not what I was saying. Jones was going to be on the field regardless. Either you put him in a situation where he only has a few yards to go or you depend on him to drive down the field to get your team into field goal range.

So, you're saying you don't like Tomlin?

As for Pom Poms ... I have none.

I enjoy watching his continued stupidity and fans here defending it to the bitter end. I don't live and die with the Steelers, it is just entertainment as you get older and watch tools like Bryant with a huge grin on his face while shaking hands after the loss. We fans get more emotionally involved than the players and once you realize that you realize it is just a game.

Pom pom thread?
Offense.
And Tomlin is not a bad coach. Get used to it Steeler Nation, he's our guy

Marty Shot...wasn't such a bad coach, but always fell short.

We deserve better than slightly mediocre.

Not just a game, but with a username like "Pens" I can see they aren't yinz first priority.

Every sport is entertainment for who watches.

For diehards we do expect with a top 3 QB and a top 5 O, that our team is just slightly better than average.

I'm not gonna be critical of the guy given the injury bug this season. Yes he should have Boykin over Blake. The deep passes on 3rd and 2, run the ******* ball. I will reserve criticism once the season is over

Easy on the Pens slash. Love my hockey team. Steelers and Pens are life for me somedays

Every team has injuries every year.

Maybe you put Gay and Cockwell on the outside and Boykin inside.

but at this point with the same bad habits year in and year out how can you not be critical of him?

1 time management -bad
2 - personnel decisions -bad
3. gut instinct decisions (taking over from coordinator decisions) -bad
4 playing down to bad teams -bad

this isn't a fricken new problem, but a ongoing problem that isn't being corrected

you are either the solution or part of the problem

not dissing the Pens, but when he says the Steelers is just a game to him. Then it easy to see that the Pens probably isn't just a game to him..

feel me?

Time management has always been a Tomlin fail. The guy is not aware of the clock for the sake of things agree there. Personal decisions? He's getting better. Still a lot. And a loooooot to improve but he's getting better. The same can be said for personal. Again, its pretty evident we all want Boykin over Blake. However this team had missed opportunities today to just single handily blame it all on Tomlin

I will say the deep passes on 3rd and 2 were stupid. But there were times where Bryant had a grip and some on the ball. So it can go anyway you choose to look at it

Offense looked good except for the INT's.
We hardly punted.
Jacoby Jones looked like he's getting the hang of returning kicks. Of course he got a lot of practice today.
We pretty much stuffed their running game, of course they didn't have Lynch but then we didn't have Bell.
