Pound the Table - Love or Hate

I'll pound the table the other way....STOP WASTING 1st round picks for trenches & use this draft capital on "Playmakers"

NFL AND NBA Rules are designed for the offense, start using your HIGH DRAFT CAPITAL on "SKILLED PLAYERS" or you will get left behind

Our offense has been offensive for too long
Is that you, Mike Tomlin?

Will this DL be a Day 1 starter??? No. That's a fact.

This draft is deep w/ DLs - not so much w/ QBs...
Maybe, I just don't see any QB that will be there at 21 as a first round talent. That DL will likely prove to be a first round pick, the QB is more a roll of the dice.

The variables and amount of finish on say a Corner is far more then a QB. And this coaching group has produce plenty of talented players in other positions in many variety of round. And the cost of missing at DB or DL is insignificant compared to Q.
We have Slay and JPJ starting DB and Beanie Bishop should be a lock at the slot this year. Trice was getting better as the year progressed and we still have the dependable and durable Pierre on the roster...

Like Najee?

I like how Milroe's hand size grew from 8 3/4" at the Senior Bowl to 9 3/8" at the combine only 28 days later. It's a good thing they had him doing whatever it was to swell his hands up or he would have been getting the Kenny Pickett small hands treatment.

The laugh is what have you gotten from these 2 bookends? LOL Yeah BJ & Fantanau have panned out really well....Bj cost us 2 games, straight up with his penalties. & changed momentum in those games...3 penalties on 1 drive?

Higher value with #1's is gonna be playmakers

Get playmakers...We need guys that can score...Those are QB's, WR's & RB's
Good lord. This is coming from a guy that calls everyone haters if you call out the coaches. Well Steve O. They used a first on a RB. They used a first on a QB. They used a second on a WR. I guess you forgot? I guess you think if they use a pick it’s guaranteed? Their mistake was not fixing the trenches that you think are unimportant before using those firsts on the sexy picks. Maybe quit drinking the ‘ roid juice before spewing away. An Oline takes 2-3 years to gel. And thats no guarantee. You seem to give your head master patience, so I know you got it in you. 😔

I sure hope Slay has something left in the tank. It reminds me of the Patrick P signing. I was happy at the time. And I was definitely wrong.

Is it strange that you fixate on a man's hand size???

I went swimming for the first time this year in the Wild Pacific. The Ocean was ******* cold. It shrank like a frightened turtle.

Pat pete was coming from a mediocre season. Slay just had a very good season

You had me until beanie, but then Pierre was just the kick in the nads. Pierre is a special teamer and nothing more

Is it possible Will Johnson falls? I don't think he tested great, but his play at Michigan was very good and he'd give the Steelers a very good starting pair of CBs with JPJ. Also, if Barron falls, he is as close to a run to the podium pick as it gets in this draft. I think he's going to be very good and would fill a huge void on the Steelers defense.

Huh?
Let's do the opposite of that

I think Echols might have something to say about slot duties

I wasn't saying we need to draft corner first round. I was saying for example they come as a more finished product and the consequences for a miss are less severe.

There is a lot of speculation here. The draft rating on Ward and Sanders is potential to be a plus starter. Dart is a backup with potential to start.

KFP had the same draft rating as Ward and Sanders.
I listed all the draft rankings since 2021 (plus 2026) in the QB thread. Ward and Sanders both ranked ahead of Pickett. It's just one draft site, but the point is the much-heralded 2026 QB class isn't viewed as all that great by this particular group of analysts. The only reason I referenced them is because they put numerical values to the draft prospects.

I'll pound the table for something. Steelers need to draft 2 DTs in the first 4 rounds.

Right now the starters are Heyward, Benton, Loudermilk. Backups are Mon Adams, Dean Lowry, Daniel Ekuale, Logan Lee

This draft has some top notch DTs. They need a guy to start day 1 over Loudermilk and be Heywards eventual replacement as top dog. They also need a better depth guy to start when Heyward is no longer able in a few years

I'd like them to get a guy later that can play NT so that Benton can play more as a DE.
