I think when you start talking about 5th 6th receivers it's about special teams. How many targets are you gonna get.

No. Tge cap cost would cripple us in the long term.. he wants to be tge highest paid ilb… we just can’t afford that with Watt and Fitzpatrick… you can’t have all tge stars… and you should not need to

Aside from injuries you are correct. When you consider Muth, Conner in the mix a and hopefully more rushing attempts only so many balls to go around.
In this day and age more than you’d think… and we almost never carry six… sometimes just 4, which is absurd in this era… id do 6 wrs and 4 rbs unless you dont have 6 quality wrs..
I watched Devin B. Very closely as I have been very critical. His run defense didn't look better. I will say that. But once the monsters up front are out there that will matter less. His pass defense was significantly better than Spillane which was terrible.
And then Conner. If he is a TE it's Muth, Gentry , and Conner. But if you keep all those rbs, receivers does that cut Watt who is a core sp. Teamer.
Punt returns is the one place id give gunner an edge in… he had one exceptional year two years ago in that area… something absurd like 17 yards per return… but sims looks good there too
I definitely don’t hate Gunner… i just think they could get more for him in a trade than some of tge other guys and i think he is redundant now that we have CA3….
Yes I’ve been playing with roster formations for a week now… its a major number crunch this year… which is great… outside of tackle, most final cuts will be painful this year
I feel like if Gunner was in a battle for a position he plays the spot tonight. The fact that he didn't tells me it's his. But I don't ant to spend a great evening debating Gunner O.'s spot on this team.
Like here is tge deal… they are keeping 3 TEs… though conner heyward isnt a true te.. he is a Hback… he can play RB, FB, and TE
They probably have to keep 8 olinemen. Thats 11… 4 rbs plus a fb equals 16, 3 qbs thats 19, 5 wrs is 24, which is how many offensive guys they kept last year… if we want to keep 6 wrs ( which if it’s true CA 3 has a foot injury then we almost have to… then we either short Rb or qb…

If we're keeping Heyward, could we only keep 3 RBs as he could fill spot duty.
Yeah it was a great game tonight… entertaining at least… and its much better to be arguing whether we can afford to trade away a pro bowler in the 5th wr position than hoping some rookie or journeyman is ready to fill a spot where no one is behind him

NFL Network replay of the game is Wed at midnight (aka Tuesday night) if anybody want to DVR to watch again or for the first time. The NFL is pushing their NFL+ streaming service so i don't know where it will be available to stream for free, if at all.

They know they're keeping him. Boswell didn't kick either. This was a thank you for the soon to be cut backup K and P and an opportunity to put something on film for the rest of the league to see.
I guess my point. Bos just signed a deserved long term contract. Him I get. If PH3 has his job wrapped up after last year they didn't bring in enough competition. He was terrible.

Not to debate. It could shake out that way. But the depth charts right now mean absolutely nothing. Especially past the first stringers.

Sure but the first two options at slot were hurt, gunner wasn’t playing first quarter because he has leapfrogged Claypool or CA3… he was because they were inactive due to injury… I’m simply arguing he is far from a lock on this roster. The wr depth is insanely good
