Rats crack down on Dionte

First AB, then Dionte, now I get these feelings that Pickens may be headed that way.
Please George, don’t end up like them.
May this be a learning experience through others for GP? He realizing that acting stupid will cost you playing time And Money, also that the grass isn't always greaner...

Refused to go into the game ... i.e. "quit". Not a good look for a guy who will be trying to get someone to offer him a lucrative contract after the season (although I think the "lucrative contract" ship has sailed before this).

Well, the Steelers did basically **** on his career for 2 years with the Pickett/Trubisky combo. Maybe that's what drove him crazy.
Out of those guys, Mitch is genuinely a good guy. I would love to hear about his altercation with Dionte at halftime during the Jets game. It’s most likely Dionte was being a jackass. I am looking forward to seeing him play against the Steelers and Fitzpatrick getting to lay him out. Makes me think of the time Polamalu called for live hitting against AB

See that’s how stupid and immature these guys are acting the way that they do.
Dionte is in a contract year and was having a pretty good season in Carolina before being traded.
Now for reasons only known to him he refuses to enter a game when called on. I think this will have repercussions when free agency begins and cost him millions in a new contract. GMs will remember this and cost him big time money. Very talented player but not very smart. Glad he’s gone!
Don’t bet on it. Someone will overlook his actions and pay him to help them. Hopefully it bites them biggly

First round talent at bargain basement price. There is always a catch.
I think its the self belief required for the position. Be THE MAN. It cannot be a coincidence the number of idiots you could name at wr. I think any of us could come up with 5 recent Steelers easily.
Recent? I can name one CURRENT one.

I thought he would be a great fit for the Ravens as well, but apparently he hates being traded to them because he has to compete with three other good WRs for catches in a contract year.

**** the opportunity to win a championship.

Despite being on a losing team with the Panthers, he was top dog among WRs there, and he's probably especially pissed off with how well Bryce Young is playing now.
Addition by subtraction

Some people would rather be a big fish in a very small pond

There is not always a catch
You act the draft is some exact science and GMs know talent levels coming out

Plenty of great first round talent and great teammates had after the first round with the only catch being the draft isn’t an exact science and GMs don’t know but the player is just overlooked

Happens all the time
Plenty of first rounders bust out too
Nothing about the selection order is an absolute to compare to the talent order, not one draft…ever

GP is a different kinda crazy
He ain’t the type that doesn’t want to go in a game
He wants to play

His emotions just get to him sometimes on the field in the heat of the moment

I'm saying with AB and DJ and George people act like the Steelers had some secret ability to pick talent late. The reality is I'm sure everyone knew they were talented. But everyone including the Steelers also knew they had character issues. That is why they were there in the lower rounds. They didn't suddenly become idiots in the NFL. And these colleges have relationships with the Pro teams. They aren't gonna lie.

For the record five recent idiots on the Steelers at wr. Brown, Bryant, Claypool, DJ and Pickens. Though I have a hard time including Claypool because he wasn't under drafted for his talent.

Claypool is still an ufa... all that physical talent and no real drive... his routes were so bad too...
His 50/50 jump balls were even worse.

Pickens wants to win and he wants to be a part of it. If he can master himself and how he reacts,he will prevail.

It doesn't matter what anyone else does. The only thing that matters is the team, the objective and the scoreboard.

If you allow your opposition to crawl under your skin to throw you off your game ,they're winning.

They know this and will continue to do so until you start handing them nothing back in return for their efforts.

The scoreboard is the only thing that matters when the clock hits zero.

I think it’s extra special that some social and national media pundits think Johnson is an orchestrated plant from PIT through CAR to BAL. For sure PIT is in those folks head 24/7.

DJ basically took a 12 gauge shotgun with super xx magnums and put a slug into the back of the head of his career, from point blank range.

Guys like this piss me off. You just piss away your life lottery over being stupid.

sorry, but, no. not on that level.
maybe not quite but his route running and breaks are spectacular when his head is straight. He just doesn't have the competitiveness or insane drive AB had. He could have been one of the best receivers in the game today if he wasn't a dumbass.

I agree to an extent

AB seemed to be a pretty good citizen and teammate until that Birthdefect hit to the head loosened some screws and then he jumped fully on the crazy train, I think he is kind of an interesting case

Bet he has some serious CTE issues

Anymore today’s player is just a different breed than the old school players were, but that just mirrors workers in every line of work in America having a different work ethic as well.

It’s a weird world in the over exposures of the social media world and the instant gratification society we now live in. Ya just don’t see as many of the old school mentality, team oriented, high work ethic type of players or employees in any given field anymore.

I don't know if i would include Bryant as one of the headcases. I don't recall him causing any issues other than smoking weed which would not even be an issue now. Claypool just seemed to think he made it and stopped working. No idea what happened to DJ. He ran great routes and i don't know if he just lost concentration or was just going through the motions.

IMO He would greatly benefit from taking up a traditional form of martial arts in the offseason

Something that teaches balance, meditation and also the quick strike deflection hand movements like Yo Shu Kai

Get himself a legit sensei/mentor and bring balance to his life…I speak from experience as I used to be a hot head and let my emotions take over on the field of play as well as getting into fights off the field…then balance was brought to my life in this exact way and my mental toughness and stability improved and took my attitude and concentration abilities to new levels

Just a random thought as I always want the best for the good guys and love the talent GP brings to the field…he’s a crazy cat out there that can literally do things I haven’t seen hardly any receivers do

To think all the times I defended this guy based on his talent. What a waste. He had the skills to be another AB but he didn’t have the drive just the crazy.
Dumbest take I've heard on Steelernation, by a wide margin.
Johnson can't even catch the ball half the time

A "factory" and who is at the switch? Who keeps pumping these "mental case" WRs out? I wonder if there is any consistent variable? Who could be causing all these defunct units?

LOL we all know the blame lies squarely at the feet of.............................................................................

The Rooneys. :ROFLMAO:

I've always thought martial arts would benefit football players tremendously. There's a lot of hand fighting in the sport on every snap.

The self discipline and learning to remain calm, cool, confident and collected are tools that help in every aspect of life.

Somebody like Jason Wilson would be perfect for GP

AB was always a head case. The speeding violations, throwing furniture out of windows. Ryan Clark said they kept a bunch of his crap under wraps.

DJ did get a 2nd contract from us at severely reduced value $13M instead of $20M range. I appreciated him for that. Dumping him did hurt our WR room and we never recovered.

Some fans here prefer Harbage to Tomlin, yet Harbage only has 1 catch in 3 games of production and now chose to sit him. I don't see DJ falling in love with a team that takes games away from him. It's almost like they're doing him a favor.
Harbage: Go in for a play.
DJ No.
Harbage OK, you don't play next week.
DJ Cool...

Say what you want about Tomlin, he was a WR in college and he knows how to get the best out of young receivers.

DJ has checked out of teams for less, so I don't see him finally seeing the light and playing like a raven anytime soon.
