Ravens sign QB Jackson to long term deal

For what it’s worth, I feel like Lamar is a better passer than Kordell ever was. Sure, it’s a low bar, but still.

He is more accurate sure. But hard to get a complete picture when everything has been tweaked to make the league passer friendly.

But Kordell could catch so **** an Action Jackson.😁

Today I read multiple quotes from Lame-ar talking about how he wants to throw more and run less… he sounds exactly like Kordell did before the 98 season… he is legit going to try to be a pocket passer to justify the contract and it is going to be Hilarious….

He wants to be the first to throw for 6000 yards in a season.

Yeah kordell was sunk when he tried to force throws in at a million mph… having a free pass at tge middle of the field is a huge benefit for modern qbs…

But this dude has barely passed 3000 yards once in his career… how in the **** does he expect to double that? Hell he can’t even stay healthy for 16 games, much less 17….

97’ and 01’ Kordell threw for more than 3000, so he has done it twice as much as Action Jackson.

Action wouldn’t have made it in the Kordell era, not strong enough.

PS

I’d take Kordell in todays NFL over Action Jackson.

Stewart wasn’t as bad a QB as many here say, some are just mad about the AFCCG losses.

Had he played today he would be a star QB not just a gadget player. He was not used to his strengths and tried to be something he wasn't. He was also cruelly treated by the fans for a nasty false rumor.

Kordell was not a good QB. He had one very good season and that was about it. Kordell was not very mentally strong either. I do think the fans were tough on him but it comes with the territory. Lamar is bigger, faster, and stronger than kordell. I did really like kordell in the slash role which lamar can't do

I don't know who was faster. I wouldn't bet against Kordell in that department. Tough on players is one thing, challenging his sexuality with made up accusations is another. There wasn't a better slash player. I think he survives longer as a QB in this era.

According to the net Kordell ran a 4.52 40 and Jackson was a 4.34. I get people dont like Jackson, but I think is better in most every stat than Kordell. Lamar still has an almost 64% career completion percentage. While Kordells hovers around 56% . Jacksons QB rating is much higher as well. Maybe Kordell would have fared better in today's game, but I dont think there is any comparison between him and Jackson.

Yeah but they did exactly what the Ratbirds do for Lame-r … super simplified throws…

That still doesn’t change the fact that he was the FIRST ever Steelers QB to do so. He had to be a “little“ bit good……………..

This escalates everything by the way… herbert was expected to sign something in the 275 million over 5 year range then burrow was expected to top that… i was thinking Burrow was a minimum of 57 million per but The Brown family probably won’t want to pony up the guaranteed cash (in escrow) as high as these guys, so he probably gets around 60 per but less guaranteed… …its truely awesome

Lol bungles fans thought he was gonna take a discount… yeah his “discount” is probably taking 55 million per year instead of 60…..

Well at least Joe is a capable pure pocket pass catcher and not a RB masquerading as a QB. There is no getting around paying these top QBs. They will get paid and quite well.

There is no doubt Burrow is elite and one is the best in the have, but signing him for so much is a huge risk considering his injury history. I would be wrapping his legs in bubble wrap

The template for winning with a high priced qb is not committing huge dollars to positions that are easy to fill with a rookie contract player… so don’t pay that pro bowl RB, that pricey guard or Center, slot Wrs, Z Wrs… on D don’t pay that SS.. or a non pass rush DLman … dont pay the runstopping ilb.. those are luxury positions for elite veterans…
focus your attention on wr1, a pass catching te, the tackles, and on D your pass rush and coverage guys…for the rest, rotate in younger players on cheap contracts…

Tge minute he signed, the chance that guys like Higgans or Mixon might get extended went out the window

Bengals had no choice but to give him that deal....no brainer,,
Not only that, that deal will look like a home town discount in 3 years..

I'm curious to see what teh Steelers do in 2026 with Kenny. Are they going to ink a franchise deal or exercise the 5th year option? Does Kenny accept it and play on that contract? Personally, If Kenny is on point and matures into a superstar, I believe Khan inks a brilliant deal with KP.
