With all due respect, we need to stop with the "Steelers schedule/defensive opponents is gonna get so hard" rhetoric.
Where is the truth to such sentiment? You did make reference to "after the bye." OK so minus NY. Then what?
Cinci, Balt., Cleveland twice. Cinci is the 22nd D, have given up 20 TDs. Not all that threatening. Browns 13th D. Ravens 23rd. Not the world beaters we are used to. That is 6 games vs. not so great of Ds, certaining not the 1st place Ds we are used to. All but one of these Ds are below average. Eagles are 9th, the most decent of the lot. Commanders are 16th, meh. Yes, KC is 10th. I just don't see the "whirlwind of accomplishment and defense" everyone keeps talking about on our schedule.

All you are looking at is yards, the worse way to determine defensive prowess..
A. KC and philly both give up less than 20 ppg and just a few yards over 300.. they are both clearly top end Ds
B. We already played the great Ds on the schedule.. looking at yards and points Denver and LAC are two of the best 3 Ds in the league. We are as well. We beat each of them effectively with a backup qb.
C. The Browns have an extremely talented D that has been undercut by a horrific O and some depth issues. Its totally possible if they dont gut it at tge deadline it performs better with a better offensive showing down the stretch
D. Washingtons D is erratic as heck... their numbers average out to average, but 3 games they gave up 30+ and couldnt stop anyone.. in the other 4, they held their opponent under 20 points..
E. Baltimore and Cinci both have issues at safety and ilb coverage.
Baltimore has a really good Run D... ( we are the second best run D in the league to them) and Baltimore has decent pass rush numbers,
But they have overall the worse pass D in the league... and in the 4th quarter their points allowed is laughably high because of it...
Cinci has little pass rush at all. Coupled with the safety issues, it was a huge issue the first 5 games. They looked better the past two games, albeit vs bad offenses...
So in the division.
The Browns have the worst O, though with Chubb back and Winston at qb, it could change. They have the second best overall D that has underperformed because the O has hung it out to dry so often
The bengals have the second best O, and the best passing game. They have a subpar D, but it may or may not be getting better
The Ravens Have the Best O and the best Rushing O.. their rushing D is great, but their pass d is a dumpster fire and they collapse in the 4th
The Steelers are unknown at Pass O right now because of the QB change. They have tge second best rushing O in the division. They have the best overall D. They are middle of the pack in pass defense and really good vs the run.
