Rudolph to return

SB bound!!!!!

Meh….I’ll don’t believe anything from Poni. It’s a shot in the dark guess more or less.

Meh I guess the Steelers were not sold on having 2 of 4 qbs in camp be basically no name gambles …

Rudy the red nosed third stringer
didn't find a starting gig
then went into free agency
couldn't get a backup
thing-a-ma-jig

His value just wasn't
what one perceived
for goodness
sake
So much for that
misguided perception

I take it none of the scrub a dub dubs looked good in the tub.

This just shows all those malcontents that if you don’t burn bridges the Steelers charitable organization for the homeless will take you back in…no matter how mediocre you are, no questions asked

Better be vet min or they overpaid at this point

And welcome back Rudy!!!!
You’re great for controversy if nothing else

I hope he gets a fair chance at the starting job this time.
(Couldn't resist 🤣)

Rudy is the "Break Glass in Case of Emergency" QB. Nothing more. Steelers simply don't want to use a completely untested FA rookie if the unthinkable happens.

I mean they already signed a udfa guy as one of the 4 camp arms and I heard some good things about two of the Rookie minicamp qbs, but it wasn’t like they tore it up… I just think they probably wanted a better insurance policy against an early injury..

Rudolph had some options at 3 qb elsewhere… but nothing with a clear chance to start available… there was some chance that the 49rs were going to trade Trey Lance and maybe Purdy isn’t ready or regresses and he got a shot there, but that hasn’t happened yet…

Also there are still experienced starters without a job yet like Teddy Bridgewater and Carson Wentz… so its not like he is a top option for an injury call either…

If basically his options are a 3rd qb on a new team for vet minimum then coming here is probably his best option… look good in preseason and maybe get a midseason opportunity to actually play…

Could those lead to Mitch being cut to free cap money for some FA vets? Not sure how much relief we would get.

complete waste of money
No 2.75 million for a guy who was able to practice 3 or 4 times last year was a complete waste of money. I'm thinking Rudolph is in at about 1 million and he could be a backup option when Trubisky leaves after next season. Rudolph could start a three game stretch. And truthfully you have to consider what Trubisky couod do if KP was knocked out for tge whole season and what either could do for four weeks in a short term injury.
